I have an asphalt FRS that's been opticoated by Wills. He does great work, however the opticoat has caused some areas to be darker than others over time. I'm planning on having mine redone in CQuartz.

Ok, so total noob here when it comes to bringing my car out to the track. Have never actually done it, but am really interested in the experience if nothing else. Only type of "racing" I've done was back when I lived in Northern California and would go out to the illegal drags back in my late teens/early 20s.

With that said, I was wondering if any of you ever take your cars out to the track to get 1/4 times. It'd be nice to push the car a little without worry of getting a ticket

I'd be down to go out to wild horse pass raceway sometime. I want to get a positive shift bushing first. When you're launching the car hard the shifter really bounces around.

Sounds good, I'd like to see the differences between the stock tune and an OFT tune. I'd be down anytime after this weekend.

Is any special gear required or safety equipment that isn't already equipped stock at bolt on exhaust level?

+1 on the positive shift bushings. Only thing I can feel now is wheel hop. Lol.

Cops are everywhere there though so watch out! I was stationed at Schofield barracks up by north shore so if you ever wanna no places to go or things to do don't hesitate to ask. You should have a blast though I know I did!
I'll be down on the south coast, hickam-pearl harbor..so right next to the airport. I'm looking up apartments and houses to rent but it's hard to pick a neighborhood when you don't know which are good or bad.

The shipping damage possibility is fine, I have insurance and I'll pitch a fit to the tmo office and their shipper if they fuck it up. I'm not too worried about gas prices, or the cops, there's not enough road to really get too crazy, and I can behave when I need to. Biggest thing I worry about with this move is learning to pronounce the street names (names in general), getting screwed in a shitty apartment, and having a crappy commute because I picked somewhere too far away from the base.

Besides 88, are there any other fun, twisty "back roads" in the valley where we can really have some fun on?

Traffic during my evening commute is too slow for me to enjoy flying down the freeway...

89 on the way to Prescott, past Yarnell up at the white spars. Fabulous on a bike, or in a car. But it is pretty far. People will say bartlett lake but it sucks. This area doesn't have much close to town unfortunately. South mountain is also one people will mention but there are more tourist there than other locations, the road is smaller (people will defend it saying its better kept but it really doesn't matter). Also South mountain is full of bicyclists... Not the most ideal for "joy riding". 88 Is the only close one I personally enjoy. If i want more I head out of the valley.

^ this. Bartlett lake is a pretty boring drive, and there are more gentlemen in uniform waiting on the side of the road.

That's what I was afraid of. The old 89 through Wickenburg is great for hill climbing. Been up that way a few times, but it is a long haul & not one I'd want to tackle at night.

We should do a run up to Sedona one Saturday morning, hitting Prescott for lunch & go through Jerome to Sedona for beers & then just cruise the I 17 back to the valley.
