I get three rock chips per year repaired. (probably would get free glass replacement if my insurance was through AZ) I got a rock chip on the way to Goodspeed too. 2 in the 4 months I have lived here. Thankfully no full cracks. Just opened up a claim now to get this bad boy repaired.

With all of the rock and pebbles on Arizona roads, I have had six windshields replaced in eight years.

Our windshields are especially vulnerable because the glass very thin to reduce weight.

Also, autox registration is open for the first of the Fall Series at the Bondurant Complex at Wild Horse Motorsports Park (formerly FIR).

http://www.mindthecones.com/index.html

Autox is one of the most exciting and safe activities you can do with your car. It is a complete adrenaline rush because the car is driven at its absolute limits at relatively low speeds (it still feels freakin' fast because you are turning twice as often as F1 in the same amount of time).

AZSolo provides helmets and instructors at the events, so the only thing you need to bring is water and sunscreen. You do not need special preparation for the car (I don't think you even need extra air in the tires, but then I haven't ran the car in stock form in a year).

I've registered for the event, and I'm assuming I need to pay $30 as a non-SCCA member. It mentions that you send the payment to registration@azsolo.com. Do we send it via PayPal? Can we pay at the event and still get the online registration pricing since I've registered online? Also, I can't seem to find the time the event starts... just mentions registration closes at 6pm.

Never auto-crossed before, should be fun

Your mom?

Sorry, had to. Nothing that I know of. Anyone want to come down to Tucson on Saturday to hit up Mt. Lemmon, take some pictures, hang out? I'm sure Marin could get some good pictures if he's motivated by enough pizza. :P

Payments can be sent via PayPal or you can pay the same pre-registration price onsite. I would recommend signing up for T.O. runs, they're a great chance to practice and get some pointers.

I believe gates will open at 6:30 or 7. Driver's meeting is usually at 9, and you'll need time to get your car prepped and teched before then.

Yep, you can prepay registration to registration@azsolo.com via paypal.
Yep, you can also pay at the event and get online reg pricing.
We will be posting event details shortly, but given the time of sunrise this time of year, I suspect gates will open at 6:30 and on site registration will run from 7:00 to 8:15, tech will run from 7:00 to 8:20 (Brent?), drivers meeting at 8:45, and first car out at 9:00.

I would suggest registering for time only runs in addition to comp runs(it is easy to re-register). TO runs occur in the afternoon, they are only $15 for three or four runs, and you can have opportunities to do some ride alongs with some fast people (seeing a good driver drive is one of the best ways to learn how to drive fast).

I will be the one with the red FR-S festooned with stickers (from nationals). Or just ask for Kevin O.

Ahhh, morning... in that case, I'll need to make sure I'm not working that day, lol

I did select Time Only runs, for exactly the reasons both of you suggested

I know both of you are probably well experienced in this stuff, and have no issues with motion sickness, but seeing as I did a little at the P1 track, and moreso when driving 88, I was wondering if you know if AutoX is easier/worse when it comes to that. It's only single runs at a time, roughly a minute long, am I correct? If that's the case, probably pretty easy to get through...

So another one bites the dust via Viscontinued Tuning. Seems as the OP has gotten some real help and got his car sorted out. But none the less here it is
