you could probably just stick a few fuzzy adhesive pads (like they put under furniture) or some foam pieces between the plate and the car, to give it a little spacing. that should prevent any scratching and let you keep the frame if you like it.

I know I'm a bit late here; but congrats with the new vehicle! Looks great, and good of you to get those mudguards! (They are a good investment! )

Thanks. The mudguards just proved themselves today. I cleaned the car this morning then the wife and I ran to town to take care of some errands. Driving into Lowes I hit a long puddle. Hear nothing but the woosh of water. My wife was saying "you just got your car all dirty". We park and I looked....not a drop on the sides of the car! Couldn't ask for anything more.

Oh, and i just pulled the license frame off. Yep, already scratched up. I cleaned it up some, better then nothing i guess. When i get the next frame, I'll put something on it to protect the paint.

I'd pick up some Meguiar's Ultimate Polish (compound is more abrasive) and take them out by hand if they're little and not deep. I've done this around the door handles of several cars where fine scratches collect and my GGROP doesn't fit, and it makes it look brand new.

Thanks for the suggestion. I used the Meguires 3-step deep crystal system, and it helped, but the scratches were still visible.

I used to use that on my Protege back before I got more into detaling as a hobby. It's a good chemical-based system if you're working by hand, but you'll need something more abrasive if you actually want to remove scratches.

Yeha, that's what I figured. I'm not overly concerned since this area is going to be covered by a license plate anyhow. I'll just take steps to reduce the likelyhood of it happening any more.

Yes, but with the LoJack tacked on.
They had a WRB Premium AT last week. I think I posted it up.
