Yeah there was no way they were going on there as they are, I tried some lube and a small hammer. I'm going to dremel them out a little bit so they'll fit.

DWX, try expanding the clamp with a flat head screwdriver. That would be able to expand it enough to make up for the difference in the powdercoat. It looks like either the powdercoat was a little thick on your muffler, or the collar clamp got a little squished, sorry about that!

I will try when I get a chance tonight. I did try a bit yesterday and it wasn't moving very much.

Mine's also the black powercoated version, I just used a flathead to spread the clamps a bit and then twisted them back and forth with some pliers to get them on. It's snug but they went on perfectly fine with a bit of elbow grease.

The PERRIN hangers aren't needed for the install, but they are stiffer than the factory exhaust, so you will less movement. It would be nice to install them at the same time as the exhaust is going in. If you placed the order directly from us, we can add it to the order if you call now!

The unresonated mid-pipe has arrived, will get recordings as soon as I can setup a dyno appointment with @Kaizen Tuning

I have the non-resonated Perrin catback installed (along w/ a Motiv frontpipe w/ HFC).. The videos online do NOT do this exhaust justice.. It's an awesome sounding exhaust with proven power. I went to the WGP FRS/BRZ meet, and everybody who heard it loved it. Not too loud, definitely not quiet. I'll try and post a vid for this thread.

UPDATES!!!

Good evening ladies and gentlemen here is the moment you've been waiting for! Sorry it took so long I've been wicked busy as of late.

I have added high quality soundclips of the Perrin UNRESONATED Cat-back exhaust alongside the resonated sound clips for comparison. These clips were recorded in the same conditions and on the same dyno as the original clips so they are a direct comparison. THE ONLY part of the car that has changed is the mid-pipe and nothing else!

You can find the clips HERE!

How much louder is the resonated? I got the resonated and it's a tad quite for me. Does it get louder as you break in or quieter ? Do you know how much more is just the mid pipe unresonated?

I do love the sound and I know I would never get pulled over here in Cali. I just want it a couple of db louder. If the unresonated is 10+ db louder the I probably don't want it.

I chose the unresonnated after talking to a fellow member here. I'm definitely glad I did. It's not loud at all unless you really get on it. Plus it seems to have quieted down after some use. On top of that I'm completely anti srone and loud noises and this one is just about perfect. I also live in Cali and have zero issues. Except at cold start ups in the morning. This motor behaves like a bike motor and roars at start ups, especially when it's cold, but other than that it's great!

damn! now I'm torn. was all set on catted & resonated because i hate drone and plan on being on WOT a fair bit. but if you think it's ok, now i don't know which way to go.

I would love someone to actually do dB tests on the different Perrin exhaust combinations available.

Let me see if I can get ahold of a Decibel meter...being in the entertainment industry, I should be able to get one from one of my sound engineer buddies.
