First, check out the track section; there are several threads on how to get started. Then, before you get discouraged, know that 2 hours is pretty good. Many (most?) people have to drive at least that for track days. Typically the drivers' meeting starts way early e.g. 6am so you generally want to drive out the night before (you for sure want to be rested!). Look for local clubs or local chapters of clubs e.g. SCCA, NASA, BMWCCA (no BMW required). Also know that drifting is not the same as HPDE. The latter normally refers to lapping on a road course. So if it's drifting that you're keen on, look specifically for that. And welcome to your new addiction! We for sure need more XX's in this hobby

Honestly I'd settle for a little autox for now but meh.
I'm more determined than discouraged for now. I'm gonna try to get to some local-ish meets before I start spending $$ and I have an old e30 (88) that I'm looking at for shits and giggles.
At this point with winter coming up it will give me time to save and plan as long as there are no house repair disasters this year. It's just poopy that there is no place close and the days the closest ones are open I can't go because of work.
It really just makes me want to get into it even more because its sooo not accessible.
I've even gone as far as looking at public auction sites for land...lmao

Autox should be even easier to find, and closer If you're serious, asking about local clubs/chapters in the track section is your best bet. Or maybe in the regional boards. For autox you don't need to mod your BRZ. For the track you'd probably want performance brake fluid at the least, and probably a full brake upgrade because the stock brakes do overheat fairly easily. That's all you'd need for starters.
