there is a plastic access port you can remove on the bottom of the trunk where you could suck air from the inside of the car to the turbo, this would keep it nice and dry!

No, John had sent me a tune when we got done installing the turbo then I logged it a few times and he sent me new maps as we went along. When he came out to LA we just happen to run into each other at 86 Fest at California Speedway and got together Wednesday so he could check out the system and look at the tune. We did a bunch of logging and tweaked the tune a bit and it really came alive. I thought it ran fine before but after our sessions it really made a huge difference. He is the Master of Tune.

Believe me I thought about it. It sounds like a turbine engine right now in the car I can't imagine what it sounds like if the air intake was in the trunk. Not out of the question though. If I lived in another state and it was my only car I would do things a little differently. Splash shield, snorkel to inside trunk etc.
I'm sure in the next few weeks all those options will come into play.

I love engineering and creating things, so answering questions and maybe sparking some creative juices in other people would be great. I get a lot of emails about providing kits and installs but right now I'm just having fun with the car and making sure it's bullet proof, and I have to dyno it before I go any further, if that turns out good, let the fun begin.

This is such a good option for those in CA who have to go through visual inspections every 2 years once the car is that age. Disconnect turbo (you dont even need to install stock exhaust because the cats are there already), install airbox, and stock tune. Smog compliant.

My guess is 7.3% of 161 HP (rear wheel stock from what I've seen) = 11.75Hp per lb. of boost. Boost (at 5psi) = 58.76. So lets say 161+59= 220Hp. So I'll go with this for fun. I'd love to see the 270 HP guess come true from FT86-UAE. It's 3 o'clock here in Ca. so 2 more hours before I get to the shop. So in a few hours we will know.
