Installed the front components and setup the back coaxial speakers. Would have installed the rear speakers but someone dropped one of them..... Ended up using the stock bracket and cutting it in half so the 4" would fit in.

We finished hooking everything up late so just gave it a test without messing with amp settings. Everything worked fine but realized the amp was set to low pass. Plan on putting all the front panels back on and then waiting on the rear speakers to come in friday.

New setup sounds real clean but it will need a sub for that punch.

Now if anyone has any tips on setting up a 4 channel amp properly let me know.

Set the HU till you hear distortion, then back it off a bit. Make sure the amp levels are pretty low for this. Then turn the gains up on the amp till they distort, or it gets too damn loud, and back them off a bit.

Obviously set low and high pass according to what the speakers that you are running can handle. If running full bandwidth speakers or using a passive crossover, set the amp slightly lower than the crossover, in high pass mode of course.

That'll get you in the ballpark. Then just tweak around with it, set the high pass higher/lower, see if it changes more or less to your liking. Then you get to do it all over again when you get the sub! YAY!

Ok so I'm back to update and get some more input. Everything works perfectly just its all in the high end range and I need some lows. So I picked up http://www.crutchfield.com/S-30n2AjA6bUq/p_091P25DB/Focal-Performance-Sub-P-25-DB.html. I need something to push this but I want to make sure I'm not wasting my time with crap. I was still thinking [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Jx500-Mono-Subwoofer-Amplifier/dp/B0081K3M5G/"]Amazon.com: Jl Audio Jx500/1d Mono Subwoofer Amplifier - 500 Watts RMS X 1 At 2 Ohms: Car Electronics[/ame] since I can get it for around 160 which is a STEAL. I'm open for suggestions on this one though . I still want to spend under 200 for this amp.

Crutchfield said I'd be overpowering that sub with that amp he suggested http://www.crutchfield.com/p_575P300...l#overview-tab stating that the sub would wire down to 2 ohms. If I read the manual properly I should be able to run 4 ohm to the sub so I don't know what he was talking about.

According to the link the sub is dual 4 ohm, so you can either wire it to 2 or 8 ohms. You can always turn the amp gain down. I always like to have more power in reserve, rather than have to max out the amp to push the sub. It should be fine on the JL amp. The biggest thing is giving the sub clean power, which it will. I ran one on 3 ED 8" subs and they handled it fine.

I decided to go with the rockford since they are actually rated higher then 300w when tested before they get sent out. I picked it up for super cheap at amazon and these bad boys are rated at around 400 at 2ohms and 250 at 4 ohms when they leave the factory.
