If you are just running a single amp (2-channel) then a cheapo scosche speaker level to line out adapter from walmart will suffice. That will handle up to four speakers. Any line out adapter will drop sound quality, but honestly, you most likely won't hear any difference.

I plan on using just the 4 channel amp and then later also adding a mono amp for a sub.

Check you sub amp, if it has high level inputs, just grab the cheap adapter at wally world for the 4xch, then use one of the rear speaker wires to tap into the sub amp high level. If the sub amp only has line level then you can drop two of the cheap adapters in, just use one (sometimes 2) of the in/outs for the sub amp, you can wire as many of them to the speaker outs of the HU as you want. Still cheaper than a 6xch and that may have only 1:1 outputs which wouldn't work anyway.

Another option is to get a DSP that sums, you only need two inputs, high or low level, then you'll get 6 or 8 ch output that you can run to whatever amps you want.

U can use the cheap Walmart line out but I'd only use it for subs not mids and highs. I have a DD-1 SMD distortion detector to set all my gain on Amps perfectly with no clipping and any time
My friends want me to do a sub instal they all cheap out and get that Walmart crap and I can't even tune it with my dd-1 because it adds distortion almost instantly and if I did tune it to that with one of those all the gains would be so low for no distortion the sun barley even moves.

I've heard the audio control line outs are awesome quality but u would need a 6 ch. or at least a 4 ch. for subs and front idk if u want a rear stage they mess up sq and staging as another member said. But for a good quality clean signal line out with that many channels will be like 150-200$ I'd save the money and do a new head unit with 3 sets of RCA outputs that are at least 3v 4-5v is better though. Plus that alone will power the stock speakers better until u can buy new speakers and a amp at the same time because an amp on stock speakers will sound way louder but won't last long at all and they might distort quicker. Please a new head unit will have better GUI and it makes everything easier

Not slamming koteman or anything but my experience comes from listening, not meter's. Never had an issue with a cheap SLC that was working properly. No hiss, dips in freq response (noticeable to the ear with pink noise after tuning) or anything else.

It's great to have a flat response to start with using all those tools, but you will adjust it to your own preferences anyway...

A DSP can level a lot of that stuff out as well then adjust from where it leaves it to taste. The DSP will make up for a lot of crappiness in other components.

Edit: Sure it's best not to use them, but when tuned right, they have a marginal impact.

I've used sound deadener stuffs from www.secondskinaudio.com with great success. The Damplifier (another CLD) used the typical aluminum/rubber construct that most deadener companies use now, it works great. I like to layer a patch of Overkill right behind the speaker on the door skin, on top of the normal Damplifier to prevent too much sound reflection from the back of the speaker.
Do you think 20sq ft of the damplifier should be fine?

Should be enough. That much did my whole Tc and that's bigger. And yeah I tune to ear a lot to and I have to when using LOCs and it works fine. But in my car I go for spl so I try and get the max out of my amps and speakers so knowing when the amp starts to clip exactly with a meter saves me from blowing 500$ subs and have to recone constantly.

Yeah, that should be enough for the doors and trunk area to get about 25% minimum coverage. I'd expect to use 4-5 sq ft minimum in each door, 8-10 sq ft would be great. It only "needs" to be on the noisy panels, but more coverage will help. Don't forget the plastic door card can resonate as well...

Use a small roller or something if you have one, make sure that stuff is stuck well and it'll never peel off. If you want to add a foam layer or speaker baffle behind the door speakers, use a good automotive spray adhesive. Aluminum tape makes a good supplement to cover sticky edges of the CLD. For doors, the deader you make them, the better they'll sound!

Which would you suggest? http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDe...odID=KOL-AK4-4 or http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDe...odID=KFX-AK4-4

I figure buy one of their kits to save some bucks and buy anything extra I need like http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDe...prodID=KNF-22D since I need an in line fuse for the 4 channel amp.

Second one. The 4ch kit has way nicer RCAs and speaker wire cause its the karma twisted pairs. That's what all mine r and I have 8ga Karma speaker wire to my sub lol. If u r doing 4ch plus mono sub amp ull need another 2ch RCA and a distro block

Ok so I've basically got everything I need plus I might be able to squeeze in my sub amp right now. [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Jx500-Mono-Subwoofer-Amplifier/dp/B0081K3M5G"]http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Jx500-Mono-Subwoofer-Amplifier/dp/B0081K3M5G[/ame] Thinking about this one for a decent sized sub.

Now what I'm looking for is a set of component speakers to replace everything in the front end of the car. I've heard focal is amazing but I don't really know what I need to fit this car. I'm looking to spend max 400 on this part of the setup.

I mean jl is good and all but cost is more than its worth. And depends in what u think is decent but in the right box 500 rms cam slam. And I've never heard and focals but I know they are supposed to be super sq oriented but also cost a crazy amount. A lot if people say cdt are just as good for less and hybrid audio has been winning the sq comps a lot.
