You're right. Correct me if I'm wrong. On BRZs, the last 4 is the production number, in my case, mine is #261.

Normally I drive with the AC off...not sure if that's delaying the inevitable. Fingers crossed that my "early build' won't need any major repairs!
Same with me in regards to AC. I think all cars do this, but a little more noticeable than normal in the BRZ.

Ha, could be... more data is important and helpful. Also, so people with FRS/brz's don't all freak out about CEL activation.

It is indeed normal. The AC clutch engages the pulley, then along with the serpentine belt it puts a load on the engine (slowing it slightly), then the engine raises its RPM to compensate; hence the whiplash RPM effect.

I'm at about 1000 KM, not going jinx myself, so I won't say anything yet.

Count me in the no problems thread!

Minus obvious unavoidable issues such as the passenger window scroll, passenger seat cell phone thing, and speaker rattle.

First world problems

VIN under 1500 and only had CEL come on once, while doing a track day. P0019 code (Cam bank sensor) and idled a little rough in the pits one session, cleared it and has not occurred again some 2k miles later. Attributed it to track use... Currently at nearly 3,300 miles and I get 20-24mpg depending on how much fun I want to have...so yeah I don't take it easy on her. She will drop some rpm's coming to stop and idling - from 700rpm to 600 rpm that is...with AC on. Also, she has always had a case of the crickets...

I'm at 3,000 miles on my BRZ. Can't recall my VIN but its in the 1400's. At the moment no issues at all. I feel for you guys that are having trouble with your BRZ's and FR-S's.

I've been in the rain and it looks like my tail lights are OK. No rattles or noises. All body panels fit tight and are lined up. It makes me a bit concerned to read about others having trouble.

Just checked my VIN...6011XX

600409, 8000 miles, Occasional hunt/shake, but not consistent and no CELs yet. It does WANT to stall, DRLs turn off and all at times.. but hasn't actually stalled yet.

My BRZ ViN is #948 and so far I have a little over 1700 miles. Only issue I've had thus far is the chirping.

I don't beat on my car too much, I am averaging 29+ mpg.

At 3400 Miles and no issues (yet)
Only ran into auto scroll problems a few times.
Rough idle maybe twice.
