I would appreciate any feedback people would care to provide.

Thanks.
Hi Geezer... Good to see you on the forum!

2k miles on my FR-S, and I haven't experienced any issue(s) you've mentioned of... Not saying that I won't though.

If you're more comfortable in waiting for a future model year FR-S, then that should be a suitable decision... But keep in mind that you'll have to give up your time in waiting for the 'right' opportunity.

I really don't like heading for the first model year of a new car... But the FR-S was a special exception. It's really a terrific sports to experience... Thus far...

Good luck in your decision, my friend!

It always cracks me up when a few people report a problem on a forum and it becomes some widespread panic.

You have to remember when you HAVE a problem you'll run right onto the forum and post about it. BUT how many posts so you see daily about the CEL that didn't come on??

Geezer, it's not worth the risk. You should ask for deposit back and then let me know which dealership you ordered it through and I will gladly take your place in line

Only joking. Toyota is aware of these problems and they seem to be fairly minor fixes. Warranty will cover it if there is a problem. Besides, it's Toyota, what's the worst that could happen? Cough cough throttle stuck wide open while in drive Lexus es300/camry

Sorry, I had more time to think... So I decided to post again.

Since you and I ordered from the same dealer, I realize that they require a $500 refundable deposit. You can always wait for the car to arrive, and see it in person... And THEN make a final decision. (Though it may be harder to pull away from your FR-S at that time, so maybe not the brightest idea from me, hehe)

Don't know why, but much respect of mine goes to the person who waits patiently for when they feel it's the right time to take the dive. I've encountered some folks on the forum who are hesitating like you, and they haven't placed their order yet... And honestly, it all depends on when the individual is ready and comfortable... And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. No sense in pressuring yourself to a decision. Everything takes its own time, as I have learned.

Speaking of that $500 refundable deposit, you can ask that dealer to either refund it to you, or hold it for when you're ready to order your FR-S at a better time. I'm sure the FR-S you just ordered will sell quick, but at least you may feel more comfortable afterwards... I'm sure this car won't be discontinued anytime soon either... And you'll be able to order it once again in the near future (or after a few more months), with no worries at all.

I wouldn't hesitate, as I haven't had any problems with mine. Plus, I feel like that's what the warranty is for anyways.

So Geezer ordered from Pat Lobb? If so, I'd like to stay in touch to see what updates they are giving you and vice versa

Well, Subaru answered back today and basically said thanks for ordering a BRZ, we gave you a service case number and we are always concerned about our cars and customers....yada, yada, yada and never addressed my specific concerns/questions at all. They made no mention of other cars having any problems or what they might be doing to correct the problem. Guess I'll bite the bullet and take delivery and pray I don't have the problem.
