I have never been a plate blurrer. I guess I think that is for the paranoid people. I guess I could see plate blurring for people who post on forums about all of the illegal street racing and stuff they do, but if a it is because you are worried about theft, well don't you think someone with access to a dmv database to search the plate could also search make and model? Plus any time you drive the car, anyone can see it.

Anyway that's my rant. Plate blurring is for the weak and paranoid.

Next to an Exige it also looks like it has painfully simple metal-work. The Exige has all kinds of curves, scoops, and shape. The FRS in comparison is almost boring. (Don't murder me, i mean this only in comparison to an Elise/Exige)

I agree also. The FR-S looks great next to any other car. I have to say that the FR-S is more enjoyable to drive on the street than the Exige though.

Good to see someone with both vehicles in the thread.

Any reasoning behind this? I am assuming the Exige is sporting some seriously stiff suspension and missing some of the creature comforts of the FR-S.

I'm thoroughly surprised by this. I wonder how subjective an opinion on every-day comfort is. For instance, i differ from almost everyone i know in that i don't judge comfort (in a car) by how comfy the seat is and i don't swoon by super-soft struts. I like a stiff ride, with lots of engine/road noise and bolstered seats.

To expand on this, my Safari is proclaimed comfortable by the ladies in my life. Why? Well because the seats are super fluffy, and when i run over a pothole you barely notice. This to me, is not comfort. I don't feel comfortable in the van knowing that if i have to jerk the wheel or push the van in an emergency, the van will likely fail.

They complain that my Celica rides like a lumber-wagon and that you have to brace yourself when you see you're going to run over a nickel. But this is comfort to me-- a capable car. The seats murder your lumbar after 45minutes and the radio is useless over the other lovely noises the car makes. However, i know that the car is capable and that its limit is miles higher than the van's. I can stop on a dime, turn sharp, accelerate much faster, ect.

I dunno, i just kind of felt i needed to elaborate on the subjectivity i notice in "comfort." Perhaps i'm a strange person(?)

Yes but not so much that I miss the creature comforts in the Lotus but its more about the numerous little annoyances.

The dampers are extremely stiff and the car bounces off any road imperfections and everything rattles, especially the doors. The intercooler is right on top of the engine which heat soaks quite easily and it blocks all rear view visions. I took off my rear view mirror since its useless. There is no power steering so it takes some effort to turn especially after using a wider tire up front. There are no bumpers so you can't or more accurately want to parallel park the car. I also don't need to tell you that its not the easiest car to get in or out off.

I still LOVE this car with all its little quirks. I think it gives it characters but it would become quite annoying if its an everyday car.

I'm also very tolerant when it comes to stiff rides but the FR-S is a luxury car compare to the Exige. I'm ok with it but it does get tiring on rough roads after a while especially when you know that its not doing the car any good either shaking everything loose. Definitely not a car you want to DD.

A lot of good points here, thanks for clarifying.

I understand-- i didn't know the Exige didn't have power steering.

Am I the only one who thinks the "FR-S" (GT 86, actually :p) has a more comfortable ride than some hatchbacks?
I was expecting it to be quite stiff, yet it isn't. Very planted, though.
