This! This is why I call it mediocre.
even outside of its class it is pretty appealing. it makes cars like the evo or sti which i used to think were bargains seem significantly overpriced. more power, more mpgs, from the few comparisons ive seen even faster around a race track, and for 10k less. i know what you are saying and i kind of agree but aside from being american or the v6 and not a v8 i cant see what is mediocre

You've answered your own question! To me, I believe Ford still carries the stigma of cheapness and long term unreliability.

Personally, I would never purchase one and even though they might be First On Race Day, they can still be Found On Road Dead and Fix Or Repaired Daily!

Case in point, when I went to Denver back in May, my rental car was a Ford Fusion. I had to bring it back and get another car b/c the trunk wouldn't open. Quality is not job 1!!!

At least that's better than the Saturn I rented; its trunk wouldn't stay shut!

To be fair, the last car I rented was a hyundai. I had to put air in one of the tires daily.

Only trunk issues? When I was 10, my family was on vacation, we rented a Ford Taurus. Parked it in some place, when we came back, engine wouldn't start...I get out and notice a huge puddle on the ground. Yes, all the fuel had leaked out the bottom of the tank.

Well, I've been driving my 05 Mustang for almost 7 years now (built in late 2004), put 80,000 miles on it, and it has not failed me yet. Yes, it HAS had some problems, but they were caused by driver error.. haha.

In terms of interior, mine is pretty good in my opinion, then when I sit in one of the new ones, I feel like I've moved into a luxury car.

I see some people saying there is one on every corner, I don't really have that problem here... I've got a Camaro on every corner. lol
