Well, allegedly it's done.

I feel like you really have the wrong relationship with a product like this when you hang your shoulders and sigh when you think about how you have to go out for a drive just to verify that it's working.

Like that expression...behind every beautiful woman is a man who's sick of putting up with her shit.

This thread is about the CEL and idle dip. The fuel pump chirp is another issue. There is a TSB for it. Do a search.

I haven't been on here in a while. I was getting a little burned out and very frustrated.
My FRS is still hunting for idle occasionally. Toyota has a video of it that I sent in and I'm awaiting a response. I've had the fuel pump replaced and the new one is making the same sound as the old one now. I also had the right rear tail light replaced because of water in it.
This car has been a big headache, but I still love driving it.
Question to all....
How many owners with the idle issue followed the 4000 rpm break in limit ?

Got my Baby back! ^_^

Dropped of my car this morning at the dealership when it opened. Unfortunately the guy at the dealership had no idea when the Engineer would show up. And I couldn't sit around and wait (so I could ask the Engineer the many questions on my mind), I had to get to work. They gave me a Legacy as a free rental (better than a Yaris or Prius! Phew!).

Then got a call at 230pm from the dealership saying the Engineer recommends a new ECU. New ECU ETA is this Thursday. Dealership will call me on Thursday.

So i guess Subaru's repair path now is;
1st) New ECU
(then if CEL returns)
2nd) New Camgears???
Update: 11/10/12 600am

Got my car back yesterday with its new ECM (aka ECU). Looks like I got the 22765AC812 ECM version. I believe my original ECM was the 810 version.

Took it over the local mountain pass and it seems to be working great. Will keep my fingers crossed that the CEL/SL doesn't come back.

Ah, the 6.25mph limit for one minute. So basically it has to go more than 10kph for more than a minute to set itself? Intriguing.

Hope the fix works for you and thank you for posting this.

Hahahaha well now guess who's back. Well I'm number 100 on the list and since it never got updated with the fix, might as well keep it up. CEL came back on this morning as I pull into work. Will get it looked at at the end of the day after I drive 2 hours to the coast for the weekend. Not gonna let this affect my weekend and will drive it all weekend. What's the worse that us gonna happen? Blown engine? That will do me a favor lol. Anyway here's the info. Ooh and I've had the ecu replaced with 21 days in the shop. Also had the fuel pump replaced.

Got my car back today. Over $2000 bill paid by warranty. Replaced ECU with 812 model. Only 50 miles today but so far so good. Forgot how much I love my car. It was a very long 35 days without it.

Which model ECU did you get when replaced?

Think it was 811. There first "updated" ecu. Went to autozone and its the same code, crankshaft sensor like before. He cleared the code and it hasn't came back in but will find out soon. Have a date with the dealership Monday.
