I feel exactly the same way. Although I'm excited to get my car back, I am still a little concerned that the ECU won't fix the problem, despite being reassured by the service director and case manager. My automotive experience says otherwise.

I have officially asked about taking ECU off new car, wont hear until Monday. He said they checked dealer inventory nationwide and there are no ECU's in stock.

Still hoping to have car back this coming week, but its not looking good. Even after I get it back, then they still have to diagnose/fix HPFP for crickets. I hope thats not another week repair!

I considered asking that too but you have to account for the production date of the donor vehicle as well. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they implemented the revised ECU until late September.

I have little confidence in the ECU being the fix but I so hope it is!

Very true, and I dont know if auto/manual ECU's are the same.

They're generally different but may work in some cases. I was running an s15 SR20 in my old 240 and found out that my ECU was taken from an auto s15. Keep in mind that I was using an s13 5 speed tranny, not the s15 6 speed, either. Frankenstein swap

As far as the FR-S/BRZ ECUs go, I have no idea. New technology is much more strict on things like these.

In the case of this car, I think the answer is no. There was a reply elsewhere someone had their ecu replaced, but it was for the wrong type of tranny and it did not work.

It's maybe 'a fix', but not a %100 fix in my opinion. It doesn't fix idle dip and my FR-S also has a throttle hesitation (like traction control kicked in) at low rpm which I don't think it had before the ECU swap.

Car goes in the shop AGAIN next friday for another tail light replacement. I'm going to ask for a loaner.

The chart means a new car needs to get past the 3500 miles mark to have less CEL chance...
