I would really like to go there, always wanted to go to Japan, if I get there I could maye even stay some more time. But as some said, better spare on FT-86 and mods. Have to see how my financial situation goes on and my studies/work.

I have a better idea. You know how some companies do European delivery? Scion should set up Japanese delivery. Order an FRS, go pick it up at Gunma and drive it around while you tour Japan, then ship it back to America. For most companies it is actually cheaper to do Euro delivery, although after you pay for the flights and hotels you just about break even.

I guess it's all talk and no go. Can we have some serious discussion on going?

It seems like a lost cause since $$ is involved! I figured it would like a $2000 trip including flight n hotel for about a week.

I'm trying to allign something since one of my buddies is under a military contract with the Navy and he goes to Japan for 9-10 months out of the year. He's been there so many times that he's so sick of Japan but I figure he'll know his way around there.

$2000 is a bargain. I'm sure more can do it at that price.

That is a good idea, but for people buying LHD vehicles it will be hard to drive in Japan, but taking a spin in Mt. Haruna, Akagi, Myogi, etc. will be EPIC and AWESOME!!!

Back to the main topic, it's like IMPOSSIBLE for me to go...

lol. 2 grand to go to a car show? If they were releasing a new Supra, RX7 and 3000GT I still wouldn't even consider dropping that kinda cash. That's a GT30R turbo and plumbing for christ's sake.

Try only visiting a family for $1600. That's how much cost me to fly over to Japan & visit my family (around trip)... Now, I didn't get to see any new concept sports car, only new thing was new cousins

Spending $2000 to visit a crowded motorshow in Tokyo where they will hype the car to the sky and all you can do is take pictures is not my idea of a good time.

I am serious on going there, for me it would be also an occasion to visit Japan, something that I always wanted to, but not that sure if I will spend that much. A reason for me to fly to Japan should be more than "just" an FT-86. Maybe BMW M3 CSL Concept (E92)? Honda HSV-010 GT Street Version? If I meet a Ninja?
