http://veloxwheels.com/wheels/pg-5s-forged

I tried finding them through a dealer (Costco is Velox's main dealer) and no one had them so I called up Velox and found you have to buy them directly from them. However, they only had 6 left in 17x7/5x100 when I bought them and they didn't know if/when they would be getting any more of them. They said they mainly had them around as one-off replacements for damaged wheels. I almost bought 5 of them but held off. They also look pretty good on the DGM.

The combo with the 245/40/17 A6 weighs a little under 34lbs.

I pulled this list together from Tire Rack and this thread. These are available new.

Kosei K4R 17x7+50 14lbs $199

Motegi Racing MR121 17x7 +48 17 $169
Motegi Racing SP10 17x7 +40 17 $137
Enkei G5 17x7 +45 18.2 $141
Enkei T-fork 17x7 +45 18.2 $141
Enkei EV5 17x7 +45 18.6 $158
Enkei Klamp 17x7 +45 18.8 $136

I have no experience with Motegi. All of the Enkeis are "Performance" series - i.e. heavy. Of the above, I would probably pick the Koseis. There is also...

Enkei RPF1 17x7 $219 (october 2012?)
Enkei RS05 17x7 +48 ? $375
5zigen FN01-RC 17x7 +48 15-17 $??? (phasing out?)

I didn't research too deeply, but it doesn't look like there are a lot of 17x7 options out there.

Feel free to add any others

Velox has another wheel, the VX6R which is 17x7 +42 and around 15.5lbs. They are a little less than $200.

Tenzo makes 17x7 +42 5x100 wheels as well. I know they make the DC5 in this and I think the DC6 as well.

tirerack now shows a higher price on the RPF1 17x7 and has changed the availability date to December. Guess they sold all the units coming in October. Glad I got my order in early!

Add a couple of Buddy Club wheels to the mix:

P1 Racing SF Wheel; 17x7 et42 5x100 17.5lbs:
http://miataroadster.com/buddy_club/.../i-221839.aspx

P1 Racing SF Challenge Wheel; 17x7 et42 5x100
http://miataroadster.com/buddy_club/.../i-213623.aspx

Both options are about 4lbs lighter than stock (21-22lbs if I remember correctly) and cheaper than most other options out there.

We ran the Kosei K1-TS wheels with 235/40-17 Dunlops on John's car at Solo Nats. We didn't have spacers so we were at the 50mm offset. I could just barely fit the end of my pinkie between the strut and tire and I have skinny fingers. Not sure how much the narrower track affected the handling of the car if it did at all. The car was definitely a bit to prone to oversteer even with the Cusco 20mm bar. I will probably keep the Dunlops mounted on the Kosei rims and run the tires at local events and for summer daily driving. Prior to attending Spring Nationals, I plan to pick up a set of 42mm wheels and one of the new crop of street tires. Hopefully there is some good testing/feedback by then.
