I ran the Primacies for my first few track days and thought they were great. I'd go as far as to say ideal for learning on. If I find a set cheap enough I may put them back on for some fun.

The SX2's break away gradually too?

SX2's have more grip and stiffer sidewalls, and are very predictable. They give a lot of audible warning, before they let go. In fact, at their max grip they will be howling.
They will overheat in a couple laps if you are really pushing it, and grip will drop off; you can still push it, but you will not be going as fast.
