I tried it on my 17x9 RPF1's and I couldn't get them to bead, and I'm used to running stretched tires (205's on 9.5's etc)

Thanks fellas. Looks like skinnier wheels for now.
Reason was to save cost. The Michelines are rated up to 8" so I figured it wouldn't stretch TOO bad and still be fine till a new set of tires.

do you need spacers for an 8 inch wide wheel? with the same offset or do you need to change that ?

What do you mean? For clearance for rubbing you will be fine. Most likely brake clearance will be fine but each wheel has different clearance for brakes and you cannot tell just by looking at offset and wheel size but 8 inch width is generally safe. I actually haven't heard it at all being a problem for the BRZ/FRS

there is a risk to streching but a 215 45 on a 8 isnt bearly noticable as a stretch. it would seat just fine at a normal tire shop

It would be best for you to stop in and talk with the Tire Rack people. They are the professionals, day in and day out.
