Yes, you are correct. A 245/35/18 is closer to OEM diameter than a 225/40/18. The general rule of thumb for tire sizing is plus or minus 3% different from stock is ok.

I'm running 245/35/18 square. It's a sweet spot for width, weight, and diameter.

Thanks! That’s good to know. What’s the width of your wheels? Springs should be coming in soon so I think 8.5 is about where I want to be.

18x9 +42 with spacers making them +30 front +27 rear. They fit with springs. -2 rear natural camber and -1.4 front from just a set of camber bolts. I'm on coils now though.

18x8.5 is a good size, what's the offset?

If I had things to do over again I think I would get bilsteins for the Eibach springs, LCA, camber bolts, and a bumpsteer kit. I feel this would have been a great street setup.

I think they were +44, if I remember correctly. That might be what I’ll do and just piece everything together one by one. Not looking for a super aggressive setup or a track setup. Just a good looking, functional, daily driver.

Those are a good size. 18x8.5 +44 is functional and conservative. 245/35 will sit squarely on a 18x8.5 for a meatier look. 225/40 is also a good size, they would give you a slight stretch, there are more tires to choose from, and they are cheaper.

Your wheels will be sunk in 20mm in the front and 23mm in the rear compared to my wheels.

I really appreciate your help. I like the sound of the 245/35. I’d rather the wheel be sunken in than to poke honestly. Wouldn’t really bother me. Especially knowing it’s so close to stock diameter. Thanks again

For 18" wheels, square set-up, what would be the maximum width and offset that the rear can take with coils at ~stock height? Might do very slight camber, up to ~-1.5 front ~1.0 rear.

I'm thinking of getting custom wheels made and a possibly +20mm aftermarket front fender, want to know my upper limits.

18x10.5 +50, +3mm spacers... so the stock rear fits 18x10.5 +47mm? daaaaayum

Installed 17x9 +45 255/40R17 in rears, i am using a 4mm hubcentric/wheel centric spacer with 100% stock suspension. Plenty of room between tire and strut/spring perch.

Tire is flush to outside of fender.

Also the 4mm spacer still allowed lug nut 8 1/4 turns once torqued to 90 ft lbs.

Do you have pictures of that setup? Are you planning to keep the suspension stock?

Rear is Michelin pilot sport a/s 3+ on advanti dst storm 17x9 +45 W/ 4mm spacer.
Front is Same but 225/45r17 on 17x8 +35 no spacer.

I bought rear LCA, front camber bolts, and had RCE yellow on back order but after 2 months got impatient, refunded springs and bought rear rims + 4 tires.
But now I'm thinking tein flex A coils sometime later, still got LCA and bolts.
Maybe once i get around to selling my old but still new tires i just took off and 2 rims ill buy them.

Ill get some pics later.
