Yes, you will be fine. Also for your tires you can run either one without rubbing. Although i believe the 225 might have a slightly stretched look, but not enough to cause any kind of damage or anything

Hi all, huge noob warning. I have a lot of questions and hope this is the right place to ask them. If not, I could make a new thread about it.

I have steep driveway problems and think getting a taller tire will help solve the issue. If I go down the ramp forwards, the front end will juuuuuust scrape at the bottom of the ramp. The back end has enough clearance for me to reverse down the ramp and not scratch anything. But this is a huge pain.

I know next to nothing about tires/rims aside from how to change them. I always swap the winter/summer tires by myself.

So what I am looking for are a set of 18" all-seasons tires and a set of 18" wheels to go with them for daily driving purposes, but I am super lost with all these different sizes, widths, etc.

I know the stock tires are P215/45R17's with a wheel that is 17x7 with a +48 offset, but if I want to go to 18" I am completely lost.

If I want to keep the stock suspension and make no other changes, what width and profile would be the best for this tire size? And for rims, what width of the wheel should I go for? Are 18x7's even a thing, or will I need to have wider wheels? And what about the offset? I don't want the wheels to be sticking out, and I don't want them to be sunken into the body either.

Edit: And for any Canadians/Quebecois, where's the best supplier for tires and wheels?

Oh, so you have stock suspension, so that strikes out my #1 suggestion of rising back to stock height overlowered cars .
As for other means of increasing ground clearance, there are options of:
1) These longer Chuhatsu springs,
2) you can google for impreza or brz or fr-s lift spacers. IIRC there should be at least two or three vendors making them. With those i wouldn't go overboard lifting vehicle as well though, so if stock suspension geometry is somewhat ok without parts to fix it and diff riser, if lowered within inch, i'd probably get also lifting within inch. But still, those topmount spacers won't change a thing to shock travel or ride compliance, so (1.) springs would be much more preferable choice to me
3) and only EVEN if that lift is not sufficient (imho it should be. On bad soviet roads & driving car all year round i have no clearance issues with stock height in 99.5% cases, so imho that slight rise will make it almost 100%, i'd think of getting bigger wheels/tires. For sizing choice just google for tire calculator. Use any of first hits found to enter stock size & compare it to entered new tire size, to see difference in diameter, circumference, sidewall height, vehicle ground clearance change, speedo error.
4) just keep driving car as is, and gradually slightly adjust your driving / road route choice / parking habits, that would work a bit better with lower then average car .. imho year driven of such car should be sufficient to notice when you rub bumpers a bit, how long road holes you can go over, how high kerb you can park over, how in diagonal you may need or not go to clear some steeper driveways/speedbumps, and just adjust driving/parking according that.

Thanks for the reply!

Maybe I wasn't clear - it is my personal driveway that is the problem. Every time I use my car, it will scratch the ground unless I go in reverse, which is a huge pain to do. Every. Single. time. Regular driving is mostly fine on Montreal streets, but my garage is an obstacle I have to face 100% of the time.

I have thought about spacers but have decided against them. I don't want to be messing around with the suspension very much. I am not much of a wrencher. Also, I can't find any good installation instructions, and have read about how it could be sacrificing a bit of control and performance and safety if I add them.

Welp, either time for a new car or new driveway. If you were lowered you could run bags but if you're already at stock height you only option would be to lift the vehicle. Taller tires probably won't be enough unless you are hardly bottoming out at all, and at the point it's something a large majority of us have come to terms with. Have you entered your driveway at an angle?

Hey all

I know there is probably a post on here, but I am browsing from my phone so going through 275 pages is a little difficult

I am looking at getting TE37s in bronze to go with my '14 Limited (pearl white) ...

18x18.5j ET40 - all round with 225/45s

Would this fit on stock suspension with no plans on lowering ?

::: EDIT :::

There is also a set of 17x7.5J ET30 ... not sure if I will go there though ... same tyre setup on them

18x8.5 +40 with 225/40 will fit really nicely.

17x7.5 +30 with 225/45 will fit well also.

245/35 tires on 18x8.5. I have TRD lowering springs and -2.2 camber up front from bolts. What offset can I run? +40?
