At least you guys can call SOA and get a direct answer immediately. Seems that since I'm in NJ, all the dealerships here get their cars from SDC and when I called SOA, the CSR told me that he would have to get back to me as there is only 1 contact that he has at SDC that can tell me my order status and he was on vacation last week. I'm hoping I get lucky as 2 guys put in orders and got their cars within 3.5 weeks at the dealership I placed my order with. I put my order in and got a VON in less than a week so hoping for a quick turnaround.

Old Bridge Subaru. They had 2 guys put in their orders at the beginning of July and they received their cars in 5 weeks. I was the next person to place an order so I'm hoping I get lucky as well. Really have no idea how SDC does their allocations though as it seems very inconsistent. For example, I know of 2 limited 6mt cars sitting up in MA on the lot right now.

That's the thing though. You're in Denver so SOA handles your inventory. In the Northeast, Subaru Distributors Corp handles inventory for dealerships. SOA is an arm of FHI and SDC is not. SDC places orders directly with Subaru Japan from what I understand. But there is no explanation that I have been able to find that determines how they choose to distribute the cars that they get. I've read where some folks placed their orders in the NE and still don't have a VON, but some that have placed orders recently like myself got a VON relatively quickly. It does seem that the dealers in the NE get cars faster than the rest of the country though. |
