12" seat height. I think I'll be okay. Loose a bit of flexibility with my chaps and spurs on to swing my leg over.

Not that I was a huge fan of the original Avatar, but I've now watched the trailer for The Way of Water twice and I'm not impressed.

The new one, at least in the trailer, is 100% CGI and it looks like a cutscene from a decent video game. It reminds me of version 2 of a game that is technically more complex but they used the same engine so it isn't that much more impressive.

I think I'll be skipping this one.

A sequel to a shitty movie. What's not to like?

i was watching modern marvels a few weeks ago, and they had an episode about tv/movies/home theater.

every advancement in film eventually was viewable in people's homes, but in the past, there was always another film advancement over the home experience that made going to the theater worthwhile in some way.

these days, there's almost no advantage to going to the theater over viewing it at home-- anyone serious enough about watching movies can easily replicate the current theater experience at home.

i think this movie is going to tank in the box office just because all the emphasis of the metrics is placed on watching in the theater, where in reality, streaming in the next 4 weeks after release will likely end up with a larger audience.

the first avatar was one of the first bluray movies that came out, so it had the shiny new technology smell to it--that was really the big draw. the story line and acting was really subpar overall though. i mean they couldn't even come up with a decent name other than 'unobtanium' for the material they were going there to mine...

it'll be interesting to see if they still release the other 2 he's already filmed afterwards.

Most people are so far short of this though.
I stopped short of coating the floor with carbonated sugar water. And my ears don't bleed at home either. I could go that far, but why?

Whenever I watch a movie I hire a couple of people to sit behind me and talk and another to sit in front with their cell phone glaring in my face so I can have the whole experience. Guy in front must be at least 6'5" and wear a cowboy hat so that costs me extra.

I also make sure that the TVs in the adjacent rooms are up so loud that in quiet moments I can hear the other movies.
