Well, spcmafia, that's a shame.

However, it's like my First Sergeant once told a PFC that was complaining about something or other, right outside my office. Private, he said, "there is two kinds of people in the world, the fuckors and the fuckees, in your case, the Army is the fuckor YOU is the fuckee!"

That was the first time I had ever heard that, I had to get up and shut my office door because I was laughing so hard -

I suggest he take her out to try on a lightly used Miata. See if she likes it -

I know you know about the parenthesized part.
I was a small child during WWII. Yep, worked my ass off, pulling weeds out of the victory garden ...... yep, and my row was always uphill ......

Ask her dumb ass how much trunk space she REALLY needs and get something that fits the bill.
A Miata would be perfect.

An M4 is buying a Javelin to kill a sand crab.

She’s not the dumb ass, he is. If she knew what he was doing she would have axed it already but it is supposed to be a surprise so I can’t say shit. Originally he was planning on buying her a car as a gift since she just had a double mastectomy, starts chemo this month, and is going through reconstruction surgery after the first of the year. This is her second bout with cancer, she is 37.

Now it’s turned into buying what he wants which is totally different. I am positive she wouldn’t want anything remotely sporty, just comfortable.

Shoes made from Lego ...
Most people carefully avoid stepping on those.
Bet they charge extra though.

OK so let's see how many stories I can illustrate with this single picture!

Story #2 - This would have been late '68 or early '69 (obviously winter).See that Chevy pulled part way into the shed/garage? The reason that it is not all the way in is because in front of it is an almost zero miles 1967 Mustang Shelby (don't know if it was a GT300 or 500). The son of the guy in the previous story used his life savings, bought it new and shortly after parked it in the shed and went off to join the US Army to fight in Vietnam. No this is not going to be one of those "He died" barn find stories!
Later in summer 1969 he was wounded when the M113 he was driving hit a mine and blew out an eardrum. He sent a letter to his girlfriend (about 5'1" and even by my 10 year old eyes very hot) asking her to get it out and take it for service so it would be ready when he got back. She did and you can guess what is coming now based on what I quoted! We all gathered around and watched her take it out, back on the street (more of a lane than a street), floor it, lose control and roll it on it's side about 100 yards down the road. She got out fine just before it burst into flames. It was a total loss and not insured.
The burnt out hulk got pulled behind that shed and was still sitting there when the property was all sold for development in '74. He still married her but they divorced less than 2 years later!

Story #3 - I have actually told this story here years ago but didn't have the picture to illustrate it then.
That dog used to chase our cat all the tie. She would get right over top of it and stare down while running. The cat would make a bee line for that pickup truck and run under it. It was a game they played and they did this hundreds of times so the dog knew exactly where that truck was without ever even lifting her head and would veer away at the last second to avoid it. Until one day when the truck got moved over about 3 feet! The chase started out as normal but since the truck was not where it was supposed to be the dog did not veer. She ran head first into the running board at full speed. The noise was so loud we went out to see what happened. She seemed OK but the next morning she was laying dead in her doghouse.

Story #4 - You can see the front corner of my mother's 1955 Chevy 4 door station wagon. Probably a couple of months after this picture was taken she was waiting on the main road to turn onto our street when she was rear ended by a transport truck doing about 50 MPH. There were of course no seatbelts in it and she got flung to the floor between the seat and the floor shift lever. She had a badly broken arm and neck pain but was otherwise OK.
The scary part was that there was a ladder in the back of the car and when it crumpled (they were NOT designed to crumple) that ladder went straight through the drivers side of the seat, grabbed the steering wheel on the way past and ended up about 50 feet in front of the car. If she had not fallen she would have been cut in half. I think there may be pictures of that car still around in the boxes where I found this one. That wagon did a great impersonation of a Gremlin!

OK I think that is all I can come up with for that one!

They live quite comfortably so she gets over it, she really doesn't care what he buys he just tries to justify it and that is what pisses her off. Couple years ago he bought an ATV for "her" because he wanted a newer one. Then he bought a SXS so she could take the kids out but that never happened cause the kids are a bit too young and he really just wanted a SXS. Then this year he decided she needed a nicer SXS to take the kids out so he went and spent almost 40K even though she never used the first one. What he really did was went out and bought the fastest one he could buy, 180hp. Now they have one that is 225hp so he wants to get that one.
