This is more common in motorcycle groups in the US. In fact, my brother-in-law arranges these types of tours as a "retirement gig" (he was a 30 year motorcycle cop/instructor).

He's on a tour as I'm typing this with about 10 people doing a week long ride in Colorado/Wyoming.

Airplane folks also do this, flying out somewhere, grabbing a breakfast or lunch and flying home. The infamous $100 hamburger (although now its more like $200 with the cost of fuel).

Haha I rather have group meet at Vegas. Speaking of Vegas, I'll be in Family trip near Vegas in July 24~29, so if anyone wanna meet to grab lunch or dinner, I'm up for it.

I can't think of any we already know. We'd surely pick up folks if we really did it.

Can't find it now but there used to be a map where you could enter your location. Both the coasts were covered but the further in you went the fewer there were. I think Wyoming had one! All in all there would not likely be many more to pick up once off the coast.

On a different note, how awesome would that actually be, a good FT86 Club meet. Probably easier said than done.Sometimes I really wish I lived in the West coast since it seems to be an area close to a lot of you. Then there's Dadhawk in Georgia.

They used to happen but just sort of faded away as interest waned. Now it seems it is pretty much just local Facebook groups that get together.

Oh, man, I have attended some AMAZING meets. Hundreds of cars. The NorCal group wins hands-down.
