If that's all the wear after years of running it, I wouldn't sweat it. The engine rocks to the left during engine braking. Might be that and/or some belt flutter.

Someone else mentioned the master cylinder a long time ago but I was skeptical because I've seen so many creaky fork pivots. Great find!

I had the same problem to a lesser extent with my Perrin tube. I just cut a quarter inch out of the filter end with a saw.

Edit for clarity: By "the filter end", I mean the end of the inlet tube that is closest to the filter.

Thanks! It sounded like a dry rod against rubber. Now I think I probably got some air in the system from when I removed the slave cylinder and started pumping the clutch trying to pinpoint the noise or it could be a bad bleed job from when I replaced the fluid. Once I determined that it wasn't the fork, I still greased it, and moved on to the firewall by the gas pedal.

The famous goose honk then! If you said that from the start I would have told you to head straight to where you ended up. Had to do the FRS a couple of times. The 86 still is quiet but I may throw some on soon anyway as a bit of a PM.

Well, it was sort of a combination of both is just that once I found one, the other once kept hiding (M.C). I also found the manual and found the type of lubricant Toyota recommends (NICHIMOLY N-13).

Reminds me of the time (it was a HOT day in August) that we were repossessing a mobile home for FHLMC, down in the redneck country. I walked up to the front door and noticed a "powerful" odor coming right through the closed door.

After I "let myself" in, I took about 2 steps and gagged and ran out. My partner asked me what was wrong? I told her it was the smell and she was not to go in there. Of course she had to go in and find out for herself. She took one step inside, gagged, ran out on the stoop and threw up. I tried to tell her -

The previous owner had left some "presents" for the bank, like several dead fish scattered around inside the mobile. I can best describe the smell as what might be smelled inside a overflowing porta potty, smeared with catfish bait on a hot day in July -

I enjoy, one of my co-worker expect me to memorize 2hr training and present it tomorrow early morning. I just barely got the presentation stuff. I got 3hrs to memorize all the detail quotes and other info.

If nothing to do with martial arts, automotive or anime/manga, I'm not a great memorizer... tomorrow's presentation won't end well. Wish me luck.

Haha presenting in general, I don’t mind. My title is a Systemwide Trainer, so my purpose of work is training & doing presentation. I just prefer to have all the stuff ready several days before hand instead of day before.

The inside still seemed smooth so I opted to just reinstall it for now and check on it again in a month or so. After reinstalling the clearance was better. I'm wondering if when I had the Jackson racing combo oil cooler/radiator last year maybe they removed the inlet tube and when they put it back they didn't check for clearance. Not sure.
