Lol I was thinking I might have to detune the FRS for regular gas soon.

The weather here is finally nice enough I’ll probably ride the motorcycle the next few days.

If you're interested in "doing your own research" dig up data on crude oil spot (or futures) prices, gas prices at the pump, and oil company profits on a monthly basis since 2010. Get a prescription for a pretty strong beta blocker before you crunch the numbers.

Edit: my resolve to never buy another ICE powered vehicle gets stronger every day.

Gougers, opportunists, perhaps price fixers is more like it. My fantasy is that this shit will hasten the transition to EVs and leave big oil drinking West Texas Intermediate or performing high pressure enemas with it.

I know everyone wants to point the finger at whoever they deem fit (trying to avoid politics because I know that's where it will go). But yeah it's getting pretty bad here at $5.49/gal. I know that's cheaper than a lot of places, but considering last month it was around a dollar less, that increase is beyond reasonable. Still, I do plan to leave the BRZ for something more economical come next year, so I am trying to enjoy the car while I can. Unfortunately gas prices are not helping. Well that and there are nothing but straight roads, and shitty ones at that. I'll probably settle with a Corolla hatchback or some other econo-shitbox and focus on a mortgage instead of a cool car.

BEVs everywhere aren't going to be much better unless somebody figures out the battery problems.

I'm assigned here for at least a year and then I gotta fight to transfer with my job. And right now that's a bit of a problem.
