I'm probably going to end up switching the Scion badges for Toyota even though it's not really a big deal.

I was just thinking about this driving home today and figured I will order the Toyota badges from partznet.com. I've ordered JDM Nissan/Toyota parts (sometimes discontinued) through them in the past at the cheapest prices. That's how I feel right at this moment... but for some reason I have a feeling that, through some miracle of how Scion markets this car, I will want to keep the "S" by the time of launch.

Also, if there's stuff that makes it hard/expensive to convert the Scion into Toyota-spec, I won't bother. Example: JDM Skyline is RHD so any USDM G coupe rebadged to a Nissan Skyline does not look like a Nissan because
1) It is LHD.
2) Steering wheel, seats, and interior usually still have the Infiniti "Mt. Fuji" logo.
One would literally have to spend thousands to aesthetically convert a USDM G coupe to a JDM Nissan Skyline.

BTW, the oval shaped "T" or "S" emblems are usually secured by adhesive + 2 pegs to align it into the body. Other emblems (such as "FT-86" or "FR-S" on the rear decklid) would usually be tacked on by adhesive only. So, with a hairdryer and floss, a re-badge should be easy.

You will be able to take off the model (FR-S) and trim (R-Spec, etc.) badges since they are only held on by double sided tape. The actual scion emblem is held on by clips in a huge hole in front, and two pins and tape in the rear. Toyota and Scion badges are different sizes also, so to change those would require custom made badges (which I am currently designing. I can't give too much detail but they will be sweet!).

I don't know the exact dimensions of the Scion badge, but you can find many Toyota badges of various size.

Yeah but finding the right size with the correct clip type and layout is near impossible (I've tried lol)

thats so true, but even if I got the scion version I won't do it. I still don't understand why you guys hate the scion badge? its only a badge, and the other 99.9% of the car is still toyota!
Even if the whole car is made by scion, if I like it then why get mad for a badge?

In middle east people here don't give respect to cars such as subaru (My GD), mazda (My NA6), and other 4 banger japanese cars, yet I still drive my cars not giving a (....) of what people think of my car brand or image! Man even when I had my AE86, poeple were woundering and telling me that I should scrap it and by a band new car!

In middle east if you drive anything other than a large SUV, Pickup or a luxury car people will keep asking you why you drive such a car?

They will never understade as there is almost (Zero) car culture here

Honestly, even if this thing was being sold by Lexus, I'd still rebadge it a Toyota. Maybe it's just me but I don't really believe in the brand hierarchy.

It's an American thing. I don't think it's hate, but to be "COOL" I was driving through K-town in LA and saw, not one but, two Genesis re-badged and a Nissan GTR de-badged. I think there are after market badges for Hyundai. If people hate the car, they would not buy it.
