Hello all,
Back again with another stupid question. My friend recently gifted me a Remark FT-86 Catback Exhaust with a welded in 3" resonator. I installed it yesterday and noticed while driving to work this morning that I am getting a ridiculous amount of cabin drone anywhere from 2k rpm and up. I have stock headers and have read on other posts here that the resonator should eliminate most cabin drone with stock headers. My question is, is this drone I have "normal" for this setup, and if not, is there anything I can do to reduce the noise? I love the sound at low RPM's, but with this being my daily driver there is no way I can keep this on with the drone driving 50 miles each way every day. For example, the stock Pioneer radio playing at 34 level volume is almost completely drowned out by the drone. Thank you guys in advance, keep being awesome. |

Yes I was interested in this exhaust but was told by owners of it that it’s probably one of the loudest/ raspiest exhausts out there so what works for most people likely won’t for your circumstances. If the resonator is making little difference then you probably need to make it bigger or add another
For reference I have a 2.5 catback (with a muffler bypass valve that is always kept open) with uncatted headers, rest of my exhaust stock and my car has little to no cabin drone- and that’s with the backseats down so I can hear the exhaust more |

If I was you I’d sell the catback or trade it for a decent pair of headers. That way you can have a slight tone/ sound increase that won’t cause drone and more importantly have a noticeable performance gain- would still be putting your friends gift to use |
