I was reinstalling the negative terminal clamp back onto the battery when the bolt snapped and the clamp went loose. Obviously I cannot drive anywhere like this and was wondering if anyone on here knows the part number or a viable replacement for the terminal. I know that we have a special clamp with some type of sensor next to the copper wire.

Need Battery Information ASAP
I think Bubba would suggest a bolt and nut combo that fits in the hole. Leave the connector be.
What do you think @? |

Take broken pieces to Napa. Ask for comparable part, it may not be exact but it will be close enough. Likely standard and not metric.

Bubba would be right. And clean all of that corrosion off while you're in there. And why is that red wire cut?

i lost my bolt like that a while back. it's a generic subaru bolt. the replacement i got was listed for an outback or something. talk to any of the auto parts stores. they'll have something that will work.
it's just a bolt with a fancy end on it, trick is to not tell the car you're using a different bolt, and it'll never know the difference!

If you can't find the exact bolt I would think you can buy any terminal and just use the bolt from it

This is not a permanent fix and you should replace the bolt as suggested above by other responses My point is there is no problem driving the car short distances without the bolt (like to the parts store and back). If the connection is loose the most likely "failure" is that you battery won't charge well and eventually you will not be able to restart and require a jump.

Funny, I would have never even thought about getting an "official" bolt. I would have dug through my collection of odd bolts, nuts and washers, found one that fit through the hole and moved on. I guess I have a little too much Bubba in me as well.

I think that’s just the right amount of Bubba. It’s a perfectly fine repair that won’t affect anything else. |

6 mm hex head cap screw, two washers, split lock washer, and nut.
Clamp the washers together, and file, sand, grind a flat on their sides deep enough to fit properly onto your terminal connector. If you're patient and handy enough, you can bend up the orthogonal sides of one of the washers to make a saddle for the screw head so it can't rotate while you tighten the nut.
