I’m sure you’d be keeping the wheels? Keep the Greddy catback too, it’s likely to fit on the new car. Hell if you don’t want to keep it, I’ll buy it back for my 2022!

Passing the wheels to a friend for his gc8 Subaru. Since I’ll want 18s. I’m unsure what else will fit and what I should sell. I currently have rce ss1 coils, and brembo performance pack brakes too. I’ll be taking them off this week. I’m still in the air about the 22, really like the styling of the gr. One thing is for sure. I will truly miss the 2013. Best car I’ve had hands down

I would pass on a short throw. The throw is fairly short already. I’m super hard on manuals and don’t need any assistance at rushing the syncros any more than I already do. If it has any impact on autox it will be negatively because it increases the chances of slapping it in the wrong gear. Drag racing is the only place you would benefit.

Hah, we were talking to the same dealer. They emailed me back saying they could drop the price of the add-on package but never got back to me about how much. Did they say if it came with any extras like floor mats or something?

I'm not sure it will. I was watching the HKS development video for their new exhaust. The mid pipe looks like a different length as does the rear muffler. I think some of the hangers may be different as well.

I’m not positive until someone tries it of course, but the donut gasket is the same and the hangers look like they’re in the same spot judging from the parts website pictures. Granted there’s a lot of room for error there. I’m assuming there was a lot of ‘if it’s not broke, don’t fix it’ going on, but I could definitely be wrong.

If I get my car this week I'll take it over to Perrin for testing.

How about as a track car?
As others already said, it's absolutely not necessary for either autocross or track car, and will not allow you to drive significantly faster.

For a track/autox car, you generally don't want the throws to be too short, otherwise you're increasing the chances of misshifts under high G situations.

I have a JDM STI Short Shifter on my '17 BRZ and even though it only shortens the throws by ~10%, it appears it uses stiffer bushings (poly?), so the overall feel is better. It's more of a preference really than an actual benefit. I recently tried the stock shifter in a friend's '19 car and was surprised how spongy it felt compared to mine — turns out I already forgot how a stock shifter feels!

In the worst case, it's not terribly hard to install yourself, or ask a friend to help.

To elaborate, if you misshift mid turn under high g loads and lock the rear wheels it will send your rear end sideways.

Agree! I have never been and will never be a fan of super short shifters. The margin for error becomes so tiny and the engagement becomes more unclear. Not even including the aforementioned wear to the trans.
