""Best Driver's Car is about finding the car that a driver can take to the limit of his or her ability, and the limit of the car's ability. It's about a car that inspires confidence when you're driving really fast. It may not be the car with the best lap time, but it's the car that allows you to reach the limits of its performance. We've got a car here, the Subaru BRZ, it has barely 200 horsepower. We've also got a Lambourgini Aventador, with 691 horsepower. Two very different cars, and one is a much better driver's car than the other, and it has nothing to do with the horsepower.""

Best drivers' car

IMHO it's totally awesome that the BRZ is in the company of such super cars and to be considered as one of the best drivers' cars out today. Can't wait to watch it unfold next week...
enjoy! :happy0180:

I got to meet Randy last week during the PPIHC practice- wish I would have asked him what he thought of the BRZ.

A win for the BRZ would be awesome for all current owners. It would definitely increase demand for the car and that keeps values nice and high!!!

I will have to buy another car with lottery money.
Nobody puts 100 miles at a time on a Lambo or McLaren.. They are ridiculously uncomfortable to drive on public roads. Got a tad lower on the scale than the top end cars and you get magnetic ride and actual comfort features.

I agree.

The Miata and new Boxster are glaring omissions, IMO, as they're pretty much the pinnacle of drivers cars that are still for sale. Unfortunately the Elise isn't for sale anymore in the 'states so it can't be included. Also, I've never read a comparison where the media got a thrill out of the MP4-12C versus the 458 Italia. The Aventador seems haphazardly placed in this, as I've never heard of any big Lambo being a good drivers car. Also, why would a driving enthusiast pick a GT500 Shelby over a Boss 302 Laguna Seca?

It seems MT basically grabbed whatever group of cars they could at the time and threw a comparison title on it just for the hell of it. Randy Pobst is MT's only saving grace as he's a good communicator and very likable.

Great perspective! I'd grab the keys to the McLaren. The adjustable & hydraulically cross-linked dampers will make for a comfortable ride and the car should feel totally transparent and effortless. I've always appreciated Ron Dennis' approach.

I don't know about you guys, but the main picture having the BRZ in the front like that makes me think that it is going to be ranked really high up there.

Yeah I feel the same way. Also just the fact that this car is even in the comparison vs those super cars as the best drivers car is amazing to me
