Which 100k car has performance similar to a BRZ? Its more like closer to a base model Cayman or Boxster at around 50k with weaker acceleration.

This is true, the BRZ's performance is nothing remarkable. But you have to understand that the super cars are tough to enjoy outside of a race track. I went most of my life not understanding this. I since made friend's with a wealthy guy that has since I've known him owned just about every car I could wish for and I've gotten to drive them all. About a year ago, he got the most impressive car I've ever driven, a 458. He wanted me to push it hard to show him what it could do. In the end, short of very exciting illegal bursts of speed, you just can't really get thrills in it without a serious risk of criminal charges, super expensive repairs, and expensive wear and tear on the car

Now the BRZ is far less scary to drive, not just because it does any thing better than mileage compared to the Ferrari, but simply it can be slid around comfortably at 30mph while never feeling like you are threatening the car. That doesn't mean the FRS is a better car, but it does mean you get to enjoy the driving aspect a lot more in day to day driving. I'd love to own the Ferrari but sadly I doubt I'll ever be able to afford to own one (not just buying one is out of reach, but ownership is far more expensive). So cars like the 991 and BRZ are more likely for most of us, just a question of how new they are. I hope to get to drive a 991 later this year as an instructor.

the brz is a 100k Porsche in a 26k dollar package, so it also excels, all it needs is power and a 6k turbo kit will fix that

The mp4-12c seems passionless compared to a 458, but something about its approach does intrigue me.

I would bet you could drive the McLaren fairly hard on the street than other super cars. Think about the reflexes and driving experience most people have that can afford to buy these cars. Then count how many have destroyed unfriendly driver's cars like the Carrera GT.

C63 AMG Overall: "It is just a terrific package, extremely satisfying to drive. It's almost like you took a Subaru BRZ, tightened up the shocks a little bit, and added 300 horsepower. That's kinda where this car is. It's that good."

Ruh roh! Sounds like we may have a problem! I'm actually shocked to read this after seeing so many AMG's driven on Top Gear UK like they were just big tire-shredding German muscle cars.

Then again, with the price differential between the AMG and the BRZ, I think we could easily add stiffer shocks and 300hp without spending $80,000 And I feel like it wouldn't be good in Randy's conscience to choose a 4000+lb car over a sub-3000lb car as the best Driver's Car out there...

If a torque converter automatic wins a best "drivers car" test, I'll never read motor trend again. M6 > Automatic for fun every time.
