@WTF How are the tweeters wired up stock? Are they splits off the 6.5's, or do they run to the head unit directly?

I remember reading awhile back that those extra holes in the dash are there to make it easy to install a role cage.

digging up an old thread here, but i recently installed an aftermarket headunit using a harness supplied by a car audio specialist.

once installed, the front tweeters dont work and it sound like the sound has shifted to the door and only very slightly to the rear (seems only acoustics are coming out of the rear).

Whats going on

Is it a harness or an adapter?

A 2 way split speaker system will use a crossover at some point.

Did you just connect to a left and right channel or multiple left and right channels?

could it be that the fronts and rears are the other way around on the adapter?
What colour are the factory fronts wires?

the adapter was pretty much plug and play....

im a noob when it comes to ICE, but was thinking of fitting one of those slim active subs under the seat....something like this: http://www.ryda.com.au/Fusion-CP-AS1...p/cpas1080.htm

Im not expecting massive improvements, but just a little more bass perhaps...so worth it or waste of money?

Will also be changing the front speakers to a decent one...would any aftermarket 6.5" speaker be direct fit on the door? and since most aftermarket speakers are already 2-way, would you recommend ditching the front tweeters or leave them on?

It would certainly increase bass response, seeing as the stock system is poor. I would go as far as saying the stereo is the only real low point on the GTS for me. I'm waiting a bit, but will definitely be replacing all the front speakers and head unit. Along with adding a sub or two.

I'm just not sure what head unit to buy as it needs to be double DIN - and I'm hesitant to have someone install it all because last time I had that done in my old car they left marks all through the car

At this stage I'd like to go Pioneer - their high end splits look the goods.
