Strange, cause every review I've read has had glowing praise for the handling.

I would never buy a newer car that has leaf springs and a pushrod motor. A far better car for the same money would be a slightly used cayman or cayman s. I was considering one before purchasing the fr-s but was afraid of the maintenance cost and potential repair bills.

Given that it's a cheaper car, I do get the sense there are a lot of younger owners out there who haven't actually driven fast cars and think they're king of the road in their 86s. I think your buddy is directing his comments at them more than at someone like you who's owned legitimately fast straight line cars.

Hey Pcasso, I agree with you, this city is full of idiots, almost everyday the commute to work and back home is an adventure with idiots trying to race me, they see the car and it's like a light goes on in their idiotic head. I just keep looking straight, F them

I have had these types of discussions with a few people and it's annoying. I don't mind differing opinions and tastes, but I DO mind heavily misguided and unfair ones. There will always be people who like huge numbers of instant HP/TQ and that's fine. If you like a car that hauls ass in a straight line, I get it. Some people like domestics, some like Japanese.. German.. whatever. Those are all valid tastes and I can see the potential debate between cars from all categories there.

However, to call a car as impressive as the FR-S can be a "joke" is simply ridiculous. If it was a joke or waste, would Top Gear and other journalists have given it the marks they did? It's a hell of a package for the money, that's undeniable.

I dislike when people compare new cars to "you could do this with X dollars instead" (typically involving a used car + mods). That's a completely different argument entirely. I remember when I bought my 08 Si brand new, I had a 'buddy' of mine giving me hell about "paying too much for a K-series when I could have gotten an H-series Prelude or done a swap for less." Funny part being, I bought the Si new because I was tired of issues with used cars, why would I want to chance that and make it expensive with a swap and other potential issues?

I digress. I don't think any of us who bought a FRS/BRZ think we got a GT-R on sale or something. We have an awesome platform for improvement that you can have fun with out of the box and at normal speeds.

:happy0180:

I remember the same stuff went on with the S2000. Jabs about it being too slow, a '***' car, hairdresser's car, etc. Give it some time for the hype to die down and they'll stop waving their ****s around.

It seems me that the same people who pull up to me and want to drag race the frs are the smart ones who hide from me in my camaro and also won't pull to the turnoffs on twisty mountain roads

Btw its proofread not proof read!! I can play this game too if you want.

I could red ink your Facebook post until you couldn't tell whats written behind it. The most obvious thing incorrect is your rambling. You love to write run on sentences without any punctuation to separate thoughts. However I realize you are the type of person that won't understand how ridiculous you sound in your written arguments.
