Yeah, it seems to be random what places people wear masks now that the statewide mandate has been lifted in MD (as of yesterday). All the mask required signs are gone, but I still carry around a mask in case I find a place where most people are wearing one. Also stores may choose to continue the mask policy so it makes it easier if I encounter one of those.

I keep a few spares in my car just in case. But yeah, in Texas the mask mandate has been removed (as many have seen or complained about), however since the CDC has updated the guidelines, that's what I will follow. Not a politician's. Either not everyone has gotten the memo, still aren't vaccinated, or are just overly paranoid.

Yeah, it's annoying hearing conflicting or differing opinions from different places. Like Mommy says you have to wear a mask. But then Daddy says it was never needed. Then after a while Mommy says you dont' have to. lol

Went for a walk yesterday with my wife. We both wore masks, and 2/3 the folks we saw were also masked. It's just easier, and I'm not objecting to lower chances of getting sick either. Kinda like wearing sunglasses and a wide brimmed hat when I spend the day working out in the sun (like I did today)

According to the study, 15% of people who had COVID-19 experienced tinnitus, 7.6% had hearing loss, and 7.2% reported vertigo — a loss of balance and sense of dizziness frequently caused by damage to the inner ear. When the study came out, the researchers got thank you notes from COVID-19 patients who said their doctors had brushed their symptoms aside.

Physicians (and everyone else) are more likely to take these ear-related symptoms seriously now. Part of that is because the study, albeit small and regional, gave conclusive evidence that these symptoms are real, and part of it is, unfortunately, because Kent Taylor, the CEO of restaurant chain Texas Roadhouse, took his life in March when he found dealing with the symptoms of tinnitus unbearable, reported the Times. So while it may seem like ringing in the ears is sort of a vague or unserious symptom, people who experience tinnitus really suffer and they deserve treatment.
