However I don't consider any Top Gear TV show as an actual car review show, it's comedy that just happens to have cars in it.
I guess you could argue that the first few seasons had more car reviewing in it, but now, like you said, it's mostly comedy.

Point being, keep watching. Or at least go watch the first season of the rebooted Top Gear and understand that the kind of magic you expect doesn't form overnight.
I clearly remember how lame TG UK was but the thing is Clarkson never had to try too hard to make it entertaining, aside from their lack of groove he was still able to give awesome reviews. The USA crew just seem awkward, boring, and just flat out cheesy. I tried to give it a shot but I would sit through every episode hoping it get better. If they would just be themselves it may stand a chance to survive, otherwise write it off in a couple of seasons.

THIS!

Compared to Motorweek and the Car Show (ugh), Top Gear USA is actually very entertaining.

I had high hopes for the Car Show.. it was one of the worse things I've ever seen on TV. I couldn't even make it through the one episode I recorded. I suppose I should give it another shot but I just can't imagine it being good.

Don't bother giving it another shot, why put yourself through the pain? LOL

TG UK in my opinion is the superior show. But it's not because of chemistry, it's because of the BBC. The hosts are allowed to say what ever they feel. They don't have to worry about offending someone or hurting an advertisers feelings. TG USA is on a network that depends on advertising for funding. If the host was to say that a car was crap than they could possibly offend an advertiser and loose funds. So TG USA will never be as good. I still watch it though, I'd rather watch a poorly made car show than the crappy reality T.V. That my wife watches!! Lol

I enjoy top gear as entertainment but I think you need to be a millionaire to watch it for car buying advice and even then I'm not so sure it's the best source. The best segments are the 1 hour specials when they do road trips or when they have to buy cars on a budget and do challenges.

I'm so excited to see a BRZ (more likely 86) on Top Gear UK!

But, Top Gear USA will have an SVX ...one of my past joyous cars: http://jalopnik.com/5919380/what-is-...nte-and-an-svx

Give Top Gear USA some time to get better. Initially Top Gear UK was ballsack; it got better over time.

THIS. Some people just don't understand that chemistry between the presenters is everything. Listen to what TG UK Presenters had to say about this:

Maybe that is what my problem is with all Top Gear shows. I tuned in to see a car show and instead got Monty Python. I hate it.

As far as Top Gear US. Rutledge should stick to NASCAR and Adam Corolla has the personality and TV presence of a turd.

Tanner Faust can at least drive but he is not funny either. However, I would rather watch him and Paul Tracy insult each other and actually do some test driving on the Supercar show (cannot remember correct name) than watch any Top Gear episode. I just do not find stupidity to be particularly funny when it comes to cars and driving.
