How do you like the coilovers? Been debating about solid coilover options for around 1k versus non-adjustable suspension (classic Bilstein B6 + RCE Yellows)

I haven't run RE71's on a twin but I had them on my E46 and switched to RS4's later.

Heat fade is real. I ran in Ontario Time Attack and their afternoon competition sessions are just 3 hot laps long (out lap, 3 hot, cooldown). After about 1.5 laps at any given track The RE71s were cooked and it was like I was riding on grease. I took to using my second hot lap as a cool down so I could at least do the third lap at pace again but my first hot lap was still always my best shot.

Additionally, my very first competition with the RE71's I was way up at the top battling for the class win (actually had fastest time in class by .02s, PAX adjustment put me in second place by a hair). Later events I dropped back a bit; but that may have also been due to my being less acquainted with the other tracks on the calendar.

Last year I decided that the RE71s had had it and got some RS4's. The first thing I noticed was a LOT more slip angle when riding the limit. The second thing was that they didn't overheat in 3 or less laps; meaning I would be able to do the full competition section at pace, giving me the best chance at an optimal time. They didn't shoot me up the ladder like the RE71's had but I was still battling for 2-4, and not at my 'home' track either. It was also different competitors at that event so it's hard to definitively say what their net loss was (though I've heard a lot of people say 1s per lap on tracks anywhere from 1:20-1:40).

Unfortunately I didn't get to have second day of results on them. I'm still kind of bewildered as to the root cause but on day 2 the outside rear tire debeaded going into turn 1, causing me to spin into the armco wall on the inside of the track. I was a few laps in so it shouldn't have been low pressure. It was the second day so I wouldn't really think it was too much grease from the installer. I really don't know. The tires were a bit pinched (255 on an 8.5" wheel, minimum recommended) and I was being really aggressive with my turn in on that corner but it still doesn't explain what the difference was from day 1.

It took 15 minutes because we were tough and didn't have the extra weight of an iPhone and laptop. Also shoveled our way out of the blizzard of 78.

They were a lot more comfortable than the Stance Suspension coilovers that come on the car. Recently took the car down to New Orleans for a Gridlife event and I was thoroughly happy how they handled on and off the track. For a budget suspension setup I think they'll fit a lot of people's needs.
