SpaceX had another successful launch, first stage recovery, two ride-share satellite deployments, and another 60+ Starlink satellite deployment. Full video here, where you can see all of it happen in real time (with jumps for the deadspace if you so choose).

It is, at least until the Martians get pissed and fight back (or humans develop enough presence and space weapons to make land claims).

Time to get ready to watch the first salvo in "Billionaires in Space"

Mind you, if I had Brason's or Bezo's money I would be doing this same thing. Well, that's not true, I'd be suiting up to fly to the Moon.

I would be suiting up for Mars.

Frankly, I don't want to spend that much time in a spacecraft, and I don't want to do the "modern day pioneer". The moon is like a vacation destination. Three days there, spend a few days, 3 days back.

Then, spend the rest of the money it would have cost to go to Mars on an SR71 or Iron Man suit.

Yea, I enjoyed it because I'm a fan of Burt Rutan and his work in aircraft, and I like the unique design of Unity, but the flight itself is not much to watch (although I'm sure it's much more exciting to do).

When Bezos takes Blue Origin's PeniShip to space next week, I'll be less excited. It's a great accomplishment but I'm much more interested in the Moon and Mars plans.

Everybody comparing what Richard and Bezos are doing to what Elon is doing is a joke.
It's like comparing mini golf to the Masters.

Well, the Blue Origin launch was about as exciting to watch as I thought it would be, which wasn't very. I will say the ship definitely gets up and goes once you light the fuse.

It was good to see Wally Funk finally get her due. It's too bad she is the only surviving member of the Mercury 13, and the Ed Dwight wasn't on the flight instead of the kid riding on his Daddy's dime. I think the flight would have been much more interesting.

I'm curious to see where Bezos and Branson go from here. At this point both are, I think ego driven vanity projects. No new ground is being plowed. Musk seems to be operating from a plan. Perhaps a megalomaniacal plan, but a plan nonetheless.

SpaceX is doing things that haven't been done before. They've made reusable launch vehicles live up to what NASA promised with the Shuttle. The Merlin and, in particular, the Raptor engines are impressive feats of engineering. If they pull off the floating launch site that will be something to see. If they actually manage to catch the super heavy on landing -

At this point, although I'm a skeptic, I wouldn't bet against them on either.
