Definitely worth looking at. Personally not feeling those mild horns but the fact it is available prepainted for some OEM codes is a plus.
Somewhere in the forum saw someone w Modellista duckbill & between those 2 horns put zenki STI spoiler lip & made it more nice. Maybe it wasn’t STI lip, maybe it was just simple rubber strip. Either way I looked nice.

The Kouki is looking better, the higher the replacement cost climbs. I don't dislike the aluminum piece enough to spend more than ~$500 on a paint matched option, plus I'm looking for smaller, not bigger. I'm not aware of anyone offering pre-painted Hakone green, so I'd have to get it painted locally. If I want smaller, I'm probably looking at a new truck lid, too...

I wished the bottom of the spoiler was cut out like the TRD to just keep the oem trunk garnish open rather than covering it up and having to relocate the badge to the spoiler. IMO the TRD spoiler looks a bit cleaner because of that.

the bonus of #4 is you do end up with a spare trunk lid as backup (for the event of damage or mood swings) or you could potentially sell it to someone looking for the '17+ spoiler and recover a couple hundred bucks which may bring the costs of #4 close to the Modellista.

The bad news about having a hakone is that the base model is not available in the color, therefore the option of trunk swapping with another owner is not available to you compared to the other color schemes. Additionally, since USDM Hakones aren't offered in a base trim without the factory spoiler, even if you get a second trunk lid and install the TRD spoiler, you also have a lower likelihood of being able to sell the original trunk + spoiler to recover some costs.

I've always like the TRD duckbill most on the 86 both zenki and kouki therefore it was one of the first things i wanted to buy for the car (unfortunately not enough research on the differences in trim for JDM vs USDM GT's). Since i found out about this incompatibility after I pulled the trigger on the kit, I have no choice but to see it through (that and i still really want it

The good news is both the spoiler and trunk lids come pre primed so the labor for painting shouldn't be that bad. My numbers are based on the quotes I received in my region so your prices may be lower or higher. Call around some local shops and see what numbers they give you.
