Correct me if Im wrong but didnt Don from AP mount his turbo towards the bottom?

I would expect the AWD BRZ STI to have a WRX badge on it because it is a WRX

If a BRZ STI had AWD it wont wear a WRX badge. Thats strictly a trim level of the Impreza. Forester STIs and Legacy STIs didnt wear WRX badges.

AWD ; no chance

STI variant; I'd love to think turbo monster with GT300 styling elements......... But I think more likely is slightly improved na power, cosmetics and some upgraded bits such as brakes, wheels.

Shame

How about we wait for the next gen WRX first. See how they position it price and performance wise. Then we can make better predictions on the BRZ updates.

And also remember the 1.6 DIT H4 they displayed right beside the FA20 at an early auto show...

It's not hatred of AWD, it's physics. If they made the car AWD, then they would have to push the entire engine in front of the front axles, like with every other Subaru in the American market. (Subaru's front drive axles come out of the transmission, which is behind the engine.)

Pushing the engine that far forward would make the car understeer a lot when pushed- like a WRX for instance. The BRZ is about balance. If the BRZ had AWD, it wouldn't be a BRZ anymore.
