In my experience, 'reality' to people in that position is a tv show type. The disconnect is so vast, it's like trying to explain salsbury steak to a remote african village of vegans.

Rarely does it catch up with them

Weird flex but ok.

Also I'm dead reading all these comments telling him reality is gonna smack him in his face in the future.

If his mommy can afford to buy him a 200K university beater then I'm almost 100% sure she has enough money set aside in a trust fund or will to leave this guy in the 1% for the long foreseeable future.

Yeah he's rich.

Yeah it maybe selfish that he doesn't want to donate money to the poor and needy, or he doesn't want to live a modest lifestyle.

For all the people preaching on their soap boxes, who among you in his situation and upbringing would be doing differently?

Also wealth is about perspective, there are people driving barely running shit boxes and in bus stops staring at our cars thinking we're rich.

I would be 100% driving a GT3 RS to school, you best believe it.

I've got a doctor at my hospital driving a GT3, 720S, DB11... to work! Another day there was a URUS and I'm not even going to mention the GT-R and a few other relatively low-grade sports cars. If you have the means, why not.

But that is just it. He repeatedly says they are not rich enough to pay cash and have to finance the cars. He does not understand (or care) that financing is debt and he is making his mother go into it. I think is safe to say that what most of us are more concerned about this aspect of the whole thing than him being some rich kid that wants and expensive car. His whole concept of money could very well blow up in his face one day.
Now, get of your higher soapbox and stop shouting down at us.

If he came on and said "My mother is buying me an expensive car" and left it at that most would have said "cool story bro" and that would have been the end of it. That is NOT what he has said.
I don't give a damn what anybody drives if they can afford it.

I doubt he's forcing his mom to go into debt. Even rich people can't afford 200k lump sums based on liquidity of assets sometimes.
But I digress.

I didn't mean to shout from a higher soap box. Just trying to play devils advocate. Perspective kinda gets lost in these threads where everyone is just shouting at the OP telling him he's a dumb little kid.

Which he very well may be. But we only have a portion of the story here it seems.

Oh I understand that financing will probably be no hardship for her and could actually work to her benefit. It is his attitude that financing "makes things affordable" and "she will not have debt form financing" that will be his downfall someday.
