I think most people will be just fine for quite a few track days with off-the-shelf DOT4 at less than $7/liter:

A note on Carbotech pads. We're told they can't be run on discs that have had any other type pad. A guy at Carbotech said I could just clean the discs with sandpaper and that worked fine for me. |
