But I have owned both games and I felt GT5 was unfinished and lacked a lot of cars in comparison to Forza 4.
I hate to make this reference as I love Android and hate Apple but:

Forza 4 is like an iPhone, a finished product and does the things it can do very well.

GT5 is like Android, can do incredible amounts of things but still seems to be in a beta stage with not everything seemingly finished and polished.

For all the PS3 people out there, anyone know when Gran Turismo will have the FR-S?

No doubt they will and us owners should really enjoy actually knowing what to expect handling wise.

Unless that DLC pack has new track, forget it. I'm over it.

I also hate the business model. Sell an incomplete game and then flood it with DLC packs so when you go to race online some folks have the latest DLC and others don't. Seems more like Android's OS fragmentation to me. Some people have the latest version, others don't. By the time I'm done buying all the DLC crap I'll have spent $500 on a $60 game and that's unacceptable to me especially when NONE of the DLC's include a new track which the entire Forza community has been asking for!

Turn10's current target market: the Halo crowd. Their next release won't be for the enthusiast.

The future of online SIM racing (besides iRacing) will be from these guys:
http://www.wmdportal.com/projects/cars/ And unlike Turn10, they will actually build in support for a decent damn steering wheel that doesn't set you back $600.

:End rant:

On one hand I agree completely, which is why I never ever buy DLC for Halo or Call of Duty anymore. But when certain cars come out for Forza, I will buy. I bought an earlier DLC solely for the Ferrari 599XX because that is my favorite car in the whole world. Now I'm buying this one for the FR-S because I want to drift around other people in my actual car

This is EXACTLY why PDigital is hurting right now. I'll copy my Autoblog Comment post:

"PD should set up shop here in the US of A and REALLY get to know their market, and Hell, make another small one in the UK too. THAT is how PDigital will be king once again."

So just because they haven't released new tracks for you you don't like it? Also, DLC isn't a new thing or unique to Forza. They aren't selling an incomplete game. Don't be greedy. They simply give you the option to buy additional cars after the fact if you so choose. You make it sound as if you HAVE to buy them to be competitive and that you're missing out if you don't buy them all which is simply not true. Most people (who aren't made of money) simply buy one or two cars/packs with cars they particularly like. Would you rather they not have DLC at all and we can all be stuck without ANY of these new cars (Particularly the FR-S)?

Also quit whining about steering wheel and drive a real car, it's an xbox game.

In my opinion they should sell individual cars a-la-carte so people can buy just a single car if they want but also have the car packs at a bulk price in case people want multiple or all vehicles in a pack. If I could buy a single car for say $2 then I would be saved $10 by now.

In the end it's all about the money.

It's been in GT5, in various forms, for almost a year now. They had a concept version last year. And they finally got the actual FRS in a free release, just a few months ago.

Not to diminish or take away from your rant but if you don't at least download the free DLC car from a DLC pack, you will only see the Black Bora of Death for any cars in those packs.

It wasn't whining, it was ranting. Please note the difference. Also, the steering wheel comment is absolutely fair. This game claims itself as a "SIM" and building in support for only the crappy MS wheel sucks. The MS wheel is a travesty. The only other good wheel is the Porsche wheel which is $$$$. The Logitech wheel was terrific back int he GT4 days.

About driving a real car... I think I'll take your advice:

I use Forza to keep my racecraft skill somewhat sharp on the off season and to help keep from slipping into non-race-season insanity.

Synack and Allch Chcar both make good points.

As a Forza player I think it sucks that GT players get it for free while FM players don't. Like I said, I'm not giving Turn10 anymore of my dollars especially with their next upcoming Forza iteration: Horizon:

Need for Speed anyone... UGH.
