What's your status with PayPal at the moment as far as refund goes ?
EDIT: The biggest problem that I can see with the whole group buy is for anyone that bought back in Aug or earlier. You only have 45 days to open a dispute at PayPal. This should make anyone nervous if they have not recieved their cables as of yet, me being one of them A simple tracking number could have solved alot of issues for those waiting for their cables

Even though I have my cable and tune (no updates since v1.00) I'm concerned about the apparent lack of organization from Visconti, and the way he treats his customers. I know I'm not the only one who is worried about how to get a response from John without risking his wrath, or the ridicule of all his fanboys on here. I'm happy with my tune, but if I decide to spend anymore money it will be with a tuner who has a better model for supporting their customers.

Current Issues:
Has the Ecutek software been upgraded? Has the new Ecutek BRZ given the UK a better platform to delve into the mysteries of the ECU's? yes that's plural! Did Ecutek buy a Manual Transmission? Is the Automatic Transmission ECU programable?

That sucks Gem and i feel bad that you had to make it public but it seems that unfortunately that may be the only way to get it resolved. I paid on the group buy around 8/18 and have a cable, still waiting for a tune like a lot of people due to the ecutek issues and can't say i haven't thought about asking for a refund myself. I got my cable in about a week ago and assumed it would be ready to tune. There was no update posted here until after the fact that cables were going out with no tunes.

Just got a EcuTek software / patch fix a few minutes ago.
I'm here in Cali so I'm not able to test it out ;( Once I can confirm it works like it should I will pump it out. OH and this update will let me do pump/e85 ON-THE-FLY. <-- Happy right now. Quote:
I'm happy you posted this because I had planned on doing it myself. This is all very simple everyone. He was part of the group by ... in fact I let him join the group buy LATE. I dont remember why I did, but I think I had a good reason. Anyways he approached me again as I was preparing to ship everything. During first contact I was under the impression he wanted a refund. But after listening to him on the phone what he really wanted now was just my e85 and pumpgas tune. So I told him , well I have cables but they won't be ready to ship out for a week... he said he couldn't wait and was just going to buy it from Perrin Performance - which was and is 100% fine by me. He asked me if I could refund him the difference between my two tunes and his group buy purchase - which was $25. So I changed his order from a discounted PROECU Kit + STG1 Pumpgas Tune --> a pump/e85 tune..sent him his $25 refund via paypal. This was done right of way. I told him that I was working on a update (pumpgas / e85 map switching among other things) and when it was ready i would send it to him. He said fine. He asked me several times when the update was going to be ready and I tried to give him a good idea when it was going to be done, but he was putting the pressure on me. Putting the pressure on me isn't going to make me work any harder than I have been these past few months. Anyways now that his ECU is locked up from another vendors tune he wants a refund from me. He states he has to buy a new ecu and need the money for that. The ECU doesn't need to be replaced but it's his money it's not my business what he would do with it. Look I'm a reasonably guy - I just don't like be harassed and lied to. I've already made arrangements to change his order once and the only reason he didn't have a flash from me is because it wasn't ready. He knew this from the beginning ! Nothing on my end has changed. Him being impatient doesn't make him entitled to a refund. -John Quote:
It was my choice to ship out the cables the way I did - and not tell anyone. Posting about it would only cause useless emails and PMS about it.. I dont need any extra work So anyways it was make you guys wait two more weeks for the flash drives that went on back order to come in or ship them out with out tunes. But when I shipped the cables this time I had everyone's tunes already prepared - just needed to be emailed. At this point (because of the ecutek issue) it wouldn't have mattered too much just waiting for the flash drives to come in. I can't control everything... So if you have a cable and no tune, be happy - you could have a dead car in the driveway... -John Last edited by Visconti; 10-09-2012 at 02:00 PM. |

I've only have had 3 claims, two are from you. One for the deposit and the other for the balance. You stating incorrect info isn't going to make me do anything differently on my end. Like I said before, I contacted PayPal this morning, they advised me on what to do. Gave me 3 options. Proof of shipment Proof of refund or Refund. PayPal told me I could not email you a tune, that I had to ship it with signature. So now I will do as they said. -John |
