Your lowest offer is always the dealer.
Always try to sell privately.

A couple of days ago got an email from my local Subaru dealer with an "exclusive personalized trade-up offer" to get me into a 2018 BRZ Limited for the same monthly payment I have now, which they say is $432 per month. Except I don't have a monthly payment.

Normally I don't even read these emails, but since we were talking about them in this thread, I took a look at the tiny print at the bottom. The actual offer is:

4% interest rate
72 month loan
Price of $31,830 plus tax (for a 2018 Ltd, NOT the performance package)
$8316 for my trade, assuming "that your vehicle is in excellent condition"

There isn't a single part of this "exclusive offer" that is attractive. Before I could stop myself, I hit the reply button and said:
This is a terrible offer. You must think I'm an idiot.
Strangely, nobody has responded back.

I get the same offer every month. The leasing option is more expensive than my old monthly (which was paid-off, by the way). Why would anyone spend more for the same car? It just doesn't make sense to do it.
