Do not regret owning the FR-S one bit, it's an absolutely stellar handing vehicle that every single drive has been a pleasure in - even more so in the wet.

Currently getting ready to order a few parts to do needed work on it and completing my vision of it so it will be ready for whomever the second owner - Exedy clutch/pressure plate/LW flywheel, new full set of ignition coils/plugs, new pads/discs/brake fluid, coolant flush, new transmission/ differential fluid, finally creating the custom single exit race style exhaust I designed and ordered tubing pieces and muffler from the Burns Stainless and have had sitting around for years, and finally fixing/modding and putting the CAE Ultra shifter back in.

This car deserves to be in the final form I've envisioned a while for it with what I have available to me. Funny thing is suspension is still 100% stock after all these years and I have zero desire to change it. Has never had an alignment since bought, because it still tracks perfectly and handles perfectly precise with just barely over 55k miles on it now... All previous 4 sets of tires have always worn down perfectly even on it, and the fifth set, Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's, may be my favorite tire on it yet - a side grade to the Continental Extreme Contact DW in performance ability but a little better in ride and daily handling and $95 each plus $60 rebate...
sad to see you go my friend, come back again someday.

My last car, a 1999 Saturn SC-2, bought used in 2002 w/28K miles, just went to the great junkyard in the sky with >420K miles on it.

I'd like to get 10 years and 300K miles out of the FR-S. I'm 1/3rd of the way there.

Originally intended to buy for a short time as it has been my bucketlist dream to buy a RWD MT coupe like this.

As I may have plans with a special someone, the idea was to get rid of it for something practical... but now I don't want to get rid of it.

2013 BRZ and I plan to keep it until one of the following 3 conditions is met:

1) car craps out and not worth fixing

2) kids take keys

3) cops take keys

Until then it's happy curves!

I really pile the miles on my vehicles due to a lengthy work commute. At about 35k a year, I'm aiming for around five years or ~200k miles, whichever comes first.

2nd this. Keeping it til it dies and then fixing it so it can live again. Doubt anything will ever come close.

Just got mine about a year and a half ago. I got it around 37k and now we're at 52k with really no big issues at all. It's my Daily and I love it.

I'm only 19 so at the moment I have no reason to buy a bigger car. I'll have it until it dies.

I don't like changing cars, the only way for me to be out of this FRS is for something to truly impress me and in financial reach. I long ago set out criteria I required if I was going to buy a new car, for a very long time no car ever materialized with those definitions. Truth be told I wasn't sure if this Toyota-Subaru project would be any good. Low and behold it fit my exact criteria as if they read it(no idea if they legitimately did), now I bought one.

I've driven many cars before it and after buying, I'm kind of amazed that so few even tickle my fancy. Had this car not shown up I'd very likely still be in 2004 Impreza. All this time and its strange that the closest thing that seems to fit my criteria is a Genesis G70 but its definitely too much money for me both short and long term. Never thought I'd even enjoy the fuel economy and low maintenance of a sports car.
