That supahotfya_86 build thread
Hello all, have had my twin since 2015 purchase new at the dealer. This upcoming July will be my 3 year anniversary with my lil red. I'm long over due on a build thread. Love the community and everyone I meet with these car so far have been real chill. Traded in my 2014 Mustang GT for it. Yeah big down grade in power but a upgrade for me in other areas. So I will start off with how the car sits now. Excuse my lack of photo taking skills lol. Without further ado here are some pictures.
BUNNY2 by LIem Ngo, on Flickr BUNNY1 by LIem Ngo, on Flickr DRIVEWAY by LIem Ngo, on FlickrAfter a month of owning the car my first few mods were an cs style lip kit, enkei rpf1, and the greddy rs evolution catback exhaust. Which made the car slower due to loss of back pressure from the full 3" exhaust. That will be address later. IMG_20160517_213928 by LIem Ngo, on FlickrSo coming from 5.0 coyote Mustang I miss having some ass in the car. The stock FA20 while is fun and balance just didn't have any punch to it. So I turned to Treadstone Performance for their turbo kit that they offer for out platform. I choose the middle turbo option the 6758 efr, great power band and quick spool. On an all stock motor with stock clutch, just upgraded the fuel pump to the DW65c. On 15psi with 93 oct it made just right at about 340hp and 280tq. Car was tune in San Antonion at JMS Racing, I've put over 10k miles on the tune and the car still runs great. Hats off to Jorge at JMS Racing. 1209723_643127092496615_437932630_n by LIem Ngo, on Flickr IMG_0929 by LIem Ngo, on Flickr IMG_0928 by LIem Ngo, on Flickr 12558861_187185058313854_1731457736_n by LIem Ngo, on FlickrSo now that the car has some ass to it. I wanted to change up the exterior a bit. So found a used set of SSR SP1 in the spectrum silver. I'm a big fan of five spoke wheels on a coupe and these came up at a killer deal so couldn't pass it up. IMG_1090 by LIem Ngo, on Flickr IMG_0946 by LIem Ngo, on Flickr IMG_0942 by LIem Ngo, on Flickr IMG_0930 by LIem Ngo, on FlickrThe car stayed like in that state for about 6 months. At the time I still had the enkei at home. So I decided to sell both sets of wheels and change up the look again. This time I went with the Greddy front lip and bought my first ever brand new set of wheels. Along with some Todoroki fenders that I was able to locate locally in town. The classic triple og Bronze Volk Racing TE37's. I still miss these wheels and front lip. Decided to go with the V1 rocket bunny kit, I've been a fan of it when it first came out. Went with the vertex style lip kit, everything else on the car is authentic beside the lip kit. No going back now. My friends own a body shop, so they did the bodywork and paint. 509907160 by LIem Ngo, on Flickr 509909845 by LIem Ngo, on Flickr 509907150 by LIem Ngo, on Flickr 509904915 by LIem Ngo, on Flickr 509904925 by LIem Ngo, on FlickrWhen I got the car back home from the shop where it sat in the garage waiting for the wheels to arrive. In the mean time I was able to source a good deal on the Voltex type 1s spoiler from a cool guy in Canada. IMG_1342 by LIem Ngo, on Flickr IMG_1343 by LIem Ngo, on Flickr SPOILERINSTALL by LIem Ngo, on FlickrSome of my most recent mods to the car has been the Sard Racing seat covers that I purchase from a member here. Thank you firestormriot for the good deal on the covers. The wrinkle work itself out with them sitting in the heat after install. They were wrinkle just from being inside the box normal so no big deal. Other than the seat covers the interior is still pretty stock for the most part. I don't have any updated pictures on the gauges. I changed out the stock Perrin gauge pod to Block8head pods which I'm extremely happy with. Some updates on the car since, I've swap the suspension and went back to coilovers. Now running KW clubsport and I am loving it. Replace clutch fork, pivot ball and clutch with a extreme pressure plate with street disc and normal weight flywheel. Also took the car out to the track for the first time before the end of the year. We were out at MSR in houston and i am addicted lol. Car was still on the airlift and it did quite well.
