Yeah, the minis are what you want if you're comfortable going this route.

Its pretty bad when you have to resort to external style fasteners to hold the bumper on a brand new car.

Are those installed into plastic or some sort of metal brace?

Well. Here is my fix after some person backed out into me and drove off:
Step1: take pliers ![]() put tissue paper on each side as not to scratch the paint. Step2: get hold of the circled metal part and bent it SLIGHTLY away from the tire (thus effectively moving the whole part that the black bracket is sitting on and the bracket up) making the hole between the fender and the bumper smaller. Don't overdo it please. I did this with the bracket off, as it gave me the most leverage. Once adjusted the bumper doesn't snap out any more. ![]() edit: do this if the method with adjusting the screws doesn't work. just play with metal, it's really thin. Worked for me. The dent from the damage is still there thou, so is my shitty do up paint job. Time for that rocket bunny

Apparently someone said there are clips at the dealership that you can buy after being complaing about the alignment issue of the bumper. But that person did not reply

Haven't taken the bumper off a BRZ yet but have many times on my 4th gen outback. I had this problem as well with the fender not wanting to seal back up around the headlight housing. It took me a bit to figure out what was going on (at least in my case).
I was installing an HID setup so I had to remove the headlight housing as well as the black plastic support frame around the headlight housing. The fender clips into that support frame. When I had buttoned everything back up it turned out that I had adjusted the support frame a millimeter too high. There is some play with the bolts. I loosened it up and let it drop a slight amount before retightening everything. The additional gap let the bumper tabs clip into place nicely. Not sure if this is related at all but maybe. Also, if this is happening to people who haven't touched their headlight housings then I'm completely at a loss for what it might be. |

@nos145 any close up shots of the metal tab that you bent? Also, what's the method with the 'screws'? Thanks!
