It’s Livermore. In the summer. Thinking it’s not gonna be hot is the definition of delusion

Yep.

That's why it is such a shitty location.

Do you have any other locations in mind that may be well suited for a car group with ample parking that doesn't a thousand bucks or more?

Not off hand, but doesn't change facts.

What happened to Ranger's park?

When we needed to book they still did not have the picnic area up and running 100%. At the time they said end of May, but knowing how stuff like that goes we couldn't trust it being ready for June 2. And last year the place was under water.

It just isn't very helpful to just talk shit on an event with no useful feedback. Like your suggestion about moving reg was helpful and we will probably try that this year. We have scouted and/or attempted a dozen or so other sites over the years but none of them were going to work as well as Del Valle to this point. We don't just mail it in every year being content.

I was referring to the heat (mostly joking, because that is what we do), not the event. You guys do a great job. I'm sure it is hard to find places these days. My apologies.

I get that people joke, but it's hard to tell online and people who have never been to Summer Kickoff may get a negative idea from it and not want to come out. And the location has a whole lot to do with an event so to me it's one in the same. Port of Oakland sucked because of the layout of the parking lot and the BBQs were hella far. Even the one year at Del Valle we used a different picnic site it was kind of an issue parking and the cars not being right there.

Sounds like you have done a lot of homework. I'm sure it is going to be a great time. I'm sure it has gotten tougher as the crowds have grown.

Forecast changed, going to be hotter than initially thought.

Was going to go on my motorcycle, too hot for that now! That would have saved some parking room!

We should not have said anything about it being temperate!

No need to b*tch about the venue. If it was somewhere else it would be too cold, too much traffic, too far out of the way.

Big boy pants!

We will have ample water and ice on hand, everyone please stay hydrated. And bring sunscreen, and stay in the shade if you burn easily.
