The thickness of the stakes in that diffuser throw off the scale? Is it a durability concern?

Quite possibly. If I do hit a wall, it is usually the rear. I believe it's actual function is ballast bearing. I know just the additional weight by itself has made the car feel more controllable for me. I might experiment with finding various things I can tape down on it. haha.

Update for those that care about the RC cars. LOL. I moved the motor from the bottom mount, to the top mount. Did a very quick test run, and it's much more controllable. I guess I'm one of those that prefer higher center of gravity for drifting.

Had some time to try to polish the EVO6 today. Not sure why, but this one had more orange peel than the rest. Maybe I should have started wet sanding with 2000 grit instead of 2500. Oh well, it's decent enough. I'll get around to waxing it and finish building it....eventually. lol

Lowered the EVO6. BUT, looks like I can't use the wheels I got for it (Work CR2P). Offset is too aggressive. I know it's sacrilegious, but looks like I'll have to use the Nismo wheels from the R32 kit. I actually like the white, so maybe I'll just throw on some clear over it.

Might be able to get these 18" AVS Model 5 wheels to work as well. Their offset will be in between the Nismo and the Works. Since I'll be placing the EVO with the Chaser and Crown (lumping the sedans together in the display case), the AVS wheels might make it look more in place. Yes, yes, I know, the EVO isn't a VIP build/car.
What do you guys think? |

For those that liked to order their Tamiya products from Hobby Search (Japan), they pulled all Tamiya products out and will no longer sell Tamiya.
